Classic Legends have extended the Jawa 42 range with the addition of the Version 2.1 in the Indian market. The new Jawa 42 Version gets several upgrades that make the motorcycle more modern than ever before.
The biggest upgrade is the addition of alloy wheels that replace the wire-spoke setup. The new set of wheels are wrapped in tubeless tyres. The styling upgrades include a dark theme and the new Jawa 42 Version 2.1 gets a black finish to the engine, exhaust canisters, front fork covers, and the rear springs. The motorcycle also features an offset racing stripe that runs along the fuel tank and into the rear fender. Other changes to the motorcycle include a revision to the seat padding and a new design for the pillion grabrail. Classic Legends have also added a flyscreen and a headlamp grille as optional extras.
The motorcycle retains cycle parts such as telescopic front forks, preload-adjustable twin rear springs, a 280mm disc at the front, a 240mm rotor at the rear, and dual-channel ABS. The new Jawa 42 version 2.1 will be available in three colours – Orion Red, Sirius White, and All Star Black.
Mechanical specifications continue to feature a 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 27bhp and 27Nm of peak torque. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
The Jawa 42 series rivals the likes of Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Honda CB350, and the Benelli Imperiale 400.

1. irrespective of price point it is a very good bike and the behaviour of the staff at the showroom is also very decent and cooperative. If you buy it for daily commuting you will not be disappointed.2. the bike is a little bit high with a seat height of 810mm but believe me it feels like 830+ due to its wide seat it will be difficult for short riders to flat foot on the ground. But its ground clearance is not good it touches high bumps if you are riding with a healthy pillion. It is very easy to ride in the city and on highways also. Its wide tires give you extra confidence while cornering but it doesn't provide ABS in the rear disc brake so if you push it hard the rear wheel skids but it is manageable.Next, the turning radius of the bike is not so good. You need a large space to take a complete U-turn.

I bought this bike with a total on-road price of 2.48 Lakhs in Bengaluru. This bike is an absolute masterpiece as compared to its RE and other rivals. It just looks retro-classy feels more comfortable and easier to ride and better turning radius than the RE classic version.I got around 2000 for service. Pros:1. Better riding position even for short people (5.5 ft) on average.2. Doesn't feel so heavy.3. Awesome exhaust.Cons:1. I think the service cost is higher than RE.2. Expensive spare parts.3. Low mileage and more fuel efficiency were expected.

Jawa 42 -The beast

The buying experience was so good as I bought the bike from a good dealer Jawa Gachibowli Showroom. The dealer has having good service center as well. I bought the bike with spot cash and it cost me around 2.5 Lakh on the road price. The riding experience is comfortable and you can easily ride long distances with Jawa 42. The looks are premium enough with stunning headlights and sidelights. The servicing is high enough and costs you around 2000 per service. The first 3 services are labor free. It gives you around 28 Kmpl in the city and 35+ on highways. The pros are performance with beast looks, premium feeling, and control at high speed. I can say cons like heating issues and it gives heat directly to legs and the key is not premium look-wise.

Tips for other riders
Keep the bike under shadow and cover it with a bike cover as the bike comes with a mate finish and is prone to dust easily. Change the oil every 2500 kms for better maintenance and performance

The buying and riding experience is good, but the low-end torque of gears is pretty low, so best bike for highway rides, avoid in-city rides with this bike. Looks and performance is top notch in 2.5 lacks, but mileage is very bad at city 22-24 kmpl. On the highway, you get mileage around 27.Servicing is nearly costly.Pros- 27 hp feels on the road.Cons - low ground clearance.

Maintenance cost is very high as compared with royal enfield.Ride and handling:the jawa 42 offers a snug riding function with its upright handlebars and mid-set footpegs, Making it suitable for both short and long rides.

Change oil after 3000km. the second at 6000 km or 6 months, the third at 12 months or 12000 km, and the fourth at 18000 km or 18 months. Issues: Ignition issues, Battery issues, Oil Gauge issues, Oxygen Sensor issues, utterly poor service centres, Chain issues. But now it was Amazing. There is a Heating problem and service centers are not doing well enough to solve the problem. Nowadays guindy service centre is doing good. My opinion is not a bad response to them.
