Hero Hunk Summary

Hero Honda launched the Hunk, a 150cc motorcycle, in 2007. In 2011, Hero MotoCorp gave the Hunk a minor update, making it available it with the option of a rear disc brake.

Apart from the new colours, the motorcycle comes with an array of new features such as an altered visor, digital console, new styling for side panels, body coloured mirrors, tubeless tyres, LED tail lamps, an exhaust cover and darker coloured grab rails.

The Hero Hunk is powered by a 150cc, single-cylinder engine to develop 14.4bhp of power and 12.8Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. The bike weighs 143 kg with a fuel tank having a capacity of holding 12.4 litres of fuel. The company claims that the bike delivers a fuel economy of 52 kmpl.

This new Hunk that boasts of this additional features goes up against the segment leader Bajaj Pulsar 150 and the recent entries in the 150cc space.

      Vineet Kumar Sharma

I am Currently riding this bike and since December 2012 it's been 11 years completed so far bike covers 174000 km
There is no such thing exists for this bike called any issue or fatigue you can stretch it up to 700-800 km continuously
Power is adequate you never feel you're out of power on this bike
Nimble on the turn and very hard on Roads
In terms of maintenance, you can ride this bike only on a few things extending to 1 lac km like air filter, engine oil, and spark plug
Major fault well I never heard of it
Mileage can bring a satisfactory smile to your face
A maximum of 16 litre can filled up in the Tank of this beast
By this quantity with an average of 50 kmpl, you can go up to 800 km without filling again that's quite impressive, and very rare bikes can do that
Vibration until 100 is absent even this bike feels smoother on high revs
Just twist the throttle and within a second bike reaches 9000 rpm redline
      Comfort is also good
Braking on both rear and front disc is adequate it's not too hard so you may feel out of control, in this riding duration I never fell off due to brakes.
Traction while flicking this bike is another thing that attracts riders' mind
Overall there is nothing one can say that he doesn't like on this bike.

Nice bike for well-weighted people. Very comfortable ride after 15 years of drive still feels powerless.
12 bhp with great pick up and take make the pleasant driving experience.
Hero provides good quality spare support and is much cheaper as compared to other competitors.
We can expect more such a bike from Hero.

This bike price is reasonable. Quality is also reasonable. I use this bike for tour and some commuting purpose. Mileage is good for me it gives around 40+ mileage per litter. While long tour no back pain and felt comfort smooth riding with this hero hunk bike. I love it. Its has a great look with extra mussel . Red is my favourite colour. I use motul semi synthetic 10w30 for my bike. And i maintain the servicing properly. Pros - low price, smooth, great mussel looking, low noise, breaking control and long pillion seat. Cons- low headlight power, thin rear tyre, vibration while 80 up, low ready pickup, it can ride only for strong people for this bike weight(146kg).

Hero hunk should you buy it

      Akash Das

Buying was easy enough, bought it through emi with 24 months tenure. The riding is comfortable, enough torque at 4.5 to 5.5k rpm. Pros of the bike are, good engine sound, minimum vibration, gap between rider and pillion is fine. Good led tail lamps, riding position is comfortable enough, probably best in class mileage. Now coming to the cons, breaks could've been better, especially the front disc brakes, rear drums are ok, not much power, lack of instant pick up which pulsar provides best. Ergonomically, not so well balanced but not too bad also. Tyres could've been broader. Maintenance cost is not that much, so that can be a pro. Engine oil should be synthetic. For daily commuters, 10-30 would do, and if you want to squeeze the engine for performance, then 15-35 oil would be better choice. Decals and designing is good, looks muscular. So, in a nutshell, for daily commuters, grab the bike now, but if you are an adrenaline hunter, this bike is probably not for you.

Seating comfort is the key aspect for this bike.

      Augin

Comfort seating is the key aspect for this bike. Even though the looks don't appeal compared to its rivals of the same segment, performance is still the good side. If it offered a 55kms and above mileage, it would have surely stand as a strong opposition to its conventional rivals. It is a bike meant for people that are not interested in much sporty looks and rides.

Don't go for long interval oil change. Give some extra care for chains, air filter, wheel bearing, disc pad, battery, sprocket.
