Looks like the KTM testers are having a busy week. After we reported about the test mule of the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT couple of days ago, we have managed to get another picture of the mule being tested on the roads of Spain.
Even though the test mule was heavily camouflaged, the picture reveals a lot of information on this upcoming motorcycle. The handlebar has been raised slightly for the upright riding position. It gets a tall windscreen for better touring ability and the nose of the headlight has been redesigned heavily. As compared to the 1290 Super Duke R, the tail frame section has also been worked upon to support heavy panniers.
Just like the 1290 Super Adventure, the 1290 Super Duke GT will be powered by the same 1,301cc V-Twin 180bhp machine with oodles of low-end torque. The majority of the components of this upcoming bike will be shared with its naked sibling, to keep costs in check. Just the way the 1290 Super Adventure replaced the 990 Adventure, we are expecting the 1290 Super Duke GT to replace the 990SMT. While the Austrian manufacturer is tight-lipped about the launch of this bike, the official unveil might happen at the 2015 EICMA.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we get you more details on the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT.
