KTM has unveiled the RC390 in a new livery at the Intermot 2016 motorcycle show in Cologne, Germany.
With the next generation model rumoured to be ready by the end of next year, KTM decided to update the RC390 with a new livery for MY 2017. The new livery combines black, white and orange shades to accentuate the RC390’s sporty lines and its character.
The set of updates for the 2016 RC390 were more significant, as KTM launched the bike in a new Euro IV compliant avatar. The underbelly exhaust of the bike has been ditched in favour of a conventional exhaust pipe, and it also gained a ride-by-wire throttle and an ABS system which could be turned off. Also, the six-speed transmission was made available with a slipper clutch.
However, as these updates were meant just for the European markets, KTM refrained from launching all of them in the Indian-spec RC390. Nevertheless, we did get the slipper clutch without a hike in the bike’s sticker price. As for the new livery, we can expect it to be introduced here in the first quarter of next year. This should help the company extend the product’s life until the next-generation bike is introduced by the end of 2017.
