The Valley Run 2013, a drag racing event was held at the Aamby Valley airstrip last weekend. The event attracted a wide range of motorcycles from stock 150cc to 1400cc drag-race-prepped motorcycles.
Elite Octane Inc was the brain child behind this event. The main attraction of the event was Rickey Gadson, ten-time world drag racing champion who came from the USA to attend this event. Gadson spent the first day acclimatising himself to the motorcycle he was riding, a Kawasaki ZZR1400. On the second day he achieved the fastest time of the event of 10.088 seconds and an exit velocity of 229.01 kmph.
The Y2K Turbine Superbike, the world’s most powerful motorcycle, was also present at the venue. The motorcycle was put on display the first day, and on the second day, the monster hit the dragstrip. However, the Y2K didn’t perform properly as the engine kept shutting off . This came as a major disappointment to most of the spectators as they were expecting to see this machine to do some rounds of the dragstrip.
The two-day event ended with some nice stunts by Hrishi Mandke and RSA stunt team. Elite Octane Inc is now planning to hold this event twice a year with the next event scheduled for October.
