KTM India has confirmed to launch two fully-faired motorcycles in India. Both the motorcycles will be launched under the ‘RC’ badging and is expected to launch in 2014 calendar year.
The company currently sells the KTM Duke 200 and the KTM Duke 390 ABS in India. KTM recently unveiled the fully-faired race spec version of the Duke 390, called the RC390 that will be used for the ADAC Junior cup. The production model of the RC390 will be unveiled at 2013 EICMA event and will take some design and engineering cues from the race spec model.
The other faired racing motorcycle the company will launch in 2014 is still not known but it is likely to be based on the production racer KTM RC 250 R. The company is aiming for 10 per cent growth in the sport motorcycles category which is one of the fastest growing segments.
"Bajaj-KTM will launch two variants of the RC brandof 'faired' racing bikes in the calendar year 2014 under the sub-500 cc category," said Amit Nandi, vice-president, Bajaj Probiking.
