The week has begun on a good note for motorcycle enthusiasts in India. Just yesterday we got you the spy shots of the fully-faired Pulsar which we think is the Pulsar 375SS. Today, we present to you fresh new shots of another fully-faired Bajaj bike that might be launched in the next few weeks as the Pulsar 200SS.
This bike was spied testing near Maharashtra-Goa border by Overdrive. The heavily camouflaged test mule was seen ridden by a gentleman who we think is a part of customer trial. The company has tried very hard not to reveal the actual lines with heavy camouflage. Unlike the previous bike spied in Lavasa, this bike doesn’t sport an ABS unit. But we are expecting the motorcycle to share the same underpinnings like the Pulsar 200NS.
The LED indicators are a complete lift-off from the Duke siblings and the rear tyre hugger is similar to the one in the 200NS. The rear view mirrors are completely new and expect it to do its job unlike the ones on the Pulsar 200F. It features projector lamps which we think will be similar to the ones on the KTM RC Series as they will be made in India. Talking about the mechanical bit, we are expecting the 200SS to be fuel injected. If this happens, expect the 200NS to get fuel injected as well.
We also have heard Rajiv Bajaj saying that they would like to try to an FI version of the 200NS in India before they start exporting it. The engine will be slightly retuned to take care of the extra weight of the fairing and considering it is a sports tourer riding style, the sixth gear will be taller to make it a very comfortable highway motorcycle.
Expect the Bajaj Pulsar 200SS to be launched in India in the next few weeks within the price range of Rs 1.05 lakh-Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom Pune). Stay tuned to BikeWale as we get more details on this bike.
