Just few days ago we reported a scoop story about the Kawasaki Z800 to be launched in India in early 2014. Now we have a picture of the first Z800 in the country that is kept on display at Kawasaki’s exclusive showroom in Pune, thanks to our friends at PowerDrift.
The Kawasaki Z800 is powered by the 806cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine that churns out 113PS of peak power at 10,200 rpm and 83Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and the bike has a top speed of 233 kmph. It gets full digital instrumentation displaying tons of information. Even with the aggressive front cowl and a sharp under-cowl, the motorcycle doesn’t look as mean as the 2014 Z1000, but is a looker that will attract many enthusiasts in the country.
As per our source, the Kawasaki Z800 will be launched in India with a brilliant price tag of sub –Rs 8 lakh. First few batches of the bikes will be sold through completely-built-up (CBU) route but if the company sees good volume, they will consider getting the Z800 through the completely-knocked-down (CKD) route from Thailand.
Stay tuned to BikeWale for more details on the Kawasaki Z800.
Thanks GEARS for providing the close shots.
