Ducati has announced that it will be entering the Indian market in the coming few weeks and selling their motorcycles officially. Currently, the Ducati bikes are imported from Italy through Precision Motors, the Indian dealer, with showrooms in Mumbai and Chandigarh. But the dealer is not doing well with the sales and after sales service and that is hampering the Ducati brand.
The decision to make their presence felt in India officially is due to a growing demand for big and premium bikes that has also resulted in Triumph Motorcycles coming to India. The current dealer will continue to sell the Ducati line-up till the Italian’s maker own network isn’t up. As per the Ducati India website, they have almost the entire range that is sold in the European market. We are hoping to see all of them in the showrooms once they come down officially.
"We consider India an extremely important part of Ducati’s future global strategy and will strengthen our presence in the market with premium services and a larger network that will be in line with our global standards. Our entry into the Indian market is therefore a first step in this direction," said Cristiano Silei, vice president, sales and marketing, Ducati.
