We had reported about the advent of the Kawasaki Z800 for the Indian market. Our sources now tell us that the naked motorcycle might go on sale by the end of this month. It will be initially introduced via the CBU route and might be launched during the new showroom opening in New Delhi.
We were the first ones to report about the Z1000 bookings and bring exclusive pictures of the Z800 displayed at the showroom at Pune. With the launch of the Z800, the Japanese manufacturer will add another motorcycle from the Z series into the Indian portfolio. Our sources also reveal that the company might bring more models from the same family to India in the near future.
The Z800 borrows traits from its elder sibling, the Z1000. It has an aggressive front and a sharp under belly pan. The naked motorcycle boasts of a fully digitised instrumentation console exhibiting loads of information. The backlight and the display can be customised with either black in the background or the same for the display information.
The Kawasaki Z800 is powered by the 806cc liquid-cooled inline four engine producing 113bhp of power at 10,200rpm and 83Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The company claims the motorcycle can do a top whack of 233 kmph.
Fans and enthusiasts should definitely be excited to see this motorcycle on the Indian streets. The first lot of the Z800 will be sold via the completely-built-up (CBU) route. We hope that the manufacturer sees good volumes in the country to bring the Z800 through the completely-knocked-down (CKD) route. The Z800 might be priced close to the Rs 8 lakh price range (Ex-showroom-Pune).
