Maruti will be lending a helping hand to Suzuki Motorcycle India to help them generate more business in the country and compete with major Indian motorcycle companies like Honda, Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj Auto.
As a part of reorganisation plan by the parent arm Suzuki MotorCorp, the company will be moving important personal of various departments in Maruti Suzuki India to Suzuki Motorcycles India. Some key personnel’s from production, supply chain and human resources will be moved to the motorcycle arm of the company and strategise on generating more business for the company. The company is planning to depute around 30 important managers and engineers at the factory from time to time.
“This will be like a hand-holding exercise for the motorcycle unit. We will help them in procurement of raw materials, identifying common vendors as we have a larger vendor base that could help them in saving costs.” a Maruti official said to LiveMint.
