  • My gixxer my ride

    Palash Mandal

I bought my gixxer sf rear disc variant few months back in january 2017.Ever since i bought this bike the most striking thing everybody noticed was its visual appeal. It looks much bigger and expensive bike than it actually is.It has beat in class comfort with nature of a sports touring motorcycle.Without going too much deep here lets directly talk about its pros and cons..

1.Advantages:-it has superb road presence and it turn heads almost everywhere on road and people of all age groups seem to have a keen interest in it.

It has a upright seating posture without aggressive sporty stance which helps you for touring for long distances without ending up with a sore and numb back.

Its very agile and could be used for daily commuting through city traffic.

. It have ample amount of power lower down the rev range which helps you to rip through the traffic.

. It hardly has any vibrations at higher speeds and feels very refined and smooth on highways.

. All these qualities makes it superb bike for weekend touring.

2.Disadvantages:-breaking abilities on this bike could have been much better than it is.

. The biggest drawback of this bike is the small pillion seat. The room for pillion is limited and so its becomes uncomfortable for pillion on long rides.

. The headlights are poor and very ineffective in dark. The company should consider improving the headlamps to improve visibility in bad weather conditions and at night.

Final verdict:-overall it is a value for money product as it is the cheapest fully faired bike in india. So if you are looking for a stylish commuter bike with all modern amenities under a limited budget then this is the one motorbike you must be looking forward to ...

Hope my review proves helpful for all

of those looking forward to buy this bike..Thank you..

Style looks great. Front is very stylish and aerodynamic.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox awesome engine sound, 38 - 41 kmpl mileage. Gearbox is smooth, sometimes it gives trouble shifting to 1st gear from neutral. Engine becomes hot easily.

Ride quality & handlin very easy to handle in traffic, back seat is little high but for rider its very comfortable.

Final words its the best in its price range. Suzuki has compromised with its engine but it is

areas of improvement disc brake in rear should be introduced and engine capacity should be increased.

    Pros

    looks, sound, mileage

    cons

two heavy in front, no disc brake for rear wheel, oil cooling

    1) Awesome bike at this price.Suzuki staff is nice gave me extra free servicing & also they gives 5 years warranty which is very nice for bike at this price.
    2) Feels comfortable in city riding
    3) looks wise it is a head turner, performance is good defeats pulsar 180.
    4) Requires less frequent servicing but i always change oil after 2000kms of ride. Service bills are also less because its air cooled so no extra cost for coolant every time.
    5) The only bad thing is that it lacks 6th gear which would have been nice.
The pillion seat is very uncomfortable.

It doesn't matter for what purpose or how you are using this bike...Be it the narrow lanes of your city , the perspiring rush hour traffic or open highway....This bike does it all and does it with utmost efficiency...

I have been using this bike for daily commuting to office...Through rush hour traffic of the city and gixxer sf has never disappointed me....Even after 2 years and 12000 km i am getting an average of 45 km/pl.

And don't talk about the looks that you will get from the people on the road...From first day to this day ...People still turn their heads to have a look at it and all those praises "wow...Look at that bike".

  • Gixxer sf is a winner, a big time crowd puller

    Angad

Style when it comes to style, suzuki gixxer sf is a clear winner. Others may have a different viewpoint but no matter from which angle you look at the bike, it seems the machine is waiting to race. I read a few reviews by experts and users where they said the bike looks smaller at times and the headlight design does not fit well to the overall built but i would differ with them. Yes, this bike grabs instant attention, from people of all age groups -- male and female. In the midst of bumper to bumper traffic, gixxer sf enjoys the attention from people driving audis, bmws and all high-end brands. They say royal enfield rides are arrogant but i noticed even them turning their head. You hit the road, park it somewhere or just cruise on the highway -- gixxer becomes the central point of attention immediately.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox the engine is incredibly powerful. In fact, i might be exaggareting if i say gixxer sf actually throws you backward when revved hard. Undoubtedly, it can't meet the power delivery of yamaha r15 or honda cbr but it can't be counted out as well. Just rev the throttle and you get power on demand, adequate enough to make vehicles disappear on the rear-view mirror. On highways, the bike just flies, sans any vibration. The engine does not sound stressed even after crossing the 100 kmph mark.

Though my bike is still new, it is giving me a good mileage. I ride in mixed conditions mostly and refuel once a week (5 litres of petrol), less than half of the fuel tank's capacity and still don't need to switch to reserve mode. I hope you get the hint here.

The gear shifting was incredibly messy before the first servicing. Even after getting the servicing done, gear shifting has not become that smoother. But don't lose heart, it is very muchmanagable. While it's not butter smooth, it won't leave you stuck also.

Ride quality & handling ride quality is awesome and handling is brilliant. For a bike, that weighs more than 300 pounds and carries me (almost 200 pounds), the handling is brilliant. It maintains a straight line, sticks to the ground and does not deviate. The wind blasts are taken care off by the fairing and windshield and you don't need to worry while riding in high speeds. Oh yes, if you duck down while riding post 90-100 kmph, your body would tackle the windblasts better.

Final words suzuki gixxer sf is a no-nonsense commuter bike that can double up as tourer. Gifted with super sporty looks, the bike is an excellent companion for city as well as highway riding. The seating position, (during solo riding) can be customized according to the rider's comfort. The mileage is good considering the fact that it has a poweful engine.

Areas of improvement the bike should get a more aggressive seating position, rear disc brake, split seats, brighter headlamp and a 200-cc version (being greedy here) would make it a class apart.

    Pros

looks, styling, built, handling, engine, power delivery, braking, acceleration, ride quality

  • Loving suzuki gixxer sf as my first bike

    Prasanth

I had bought suzuki gixxer sf abs on 15 august 2017. The riding experience in city traffic perfectly smooth and comfortable and on highways the bike manages excellent upto 100 speed and the engine cools really well as i rode this bike without stopping for 210kms in a ride. The gear shifting is smooth and engine sound also smooth in high speed rides. This gives upto 47-50kms\lt mileage on highway and 43-45 kms\lt in city. The servicing and engine oil can be changed after every 3000-4000kms upto which the engine oil is perfectly smooth. Cons - the concerns i feel are view mirrors which cannot be used in traffic conditions as are lengthy and rear suspension which can be better for long rides.

  • Full review of the suzuki gixxer sf and sf special edition

    Girish K G

    1. Buying experience

Quite a good experience as they have allowed to book this bike on paytm and even we get a good cashback for it. The price is quite a easy go but still it’s needs to be more compromising price so that people could afford and feel worth.

2 and 3 riding experience and details about looks, performance etc.

As the riding this bike feels like a different because of the handle. As the it has a single handle and no cut handle sometimes during a turn we feel like we may fell off due to the single handle and the tire grip may feel less but still it doesn’t happen like felling down due to handle or tire grip. It just feel like that yet that shouldn’t be felt so that we can’t ride it comfortably. The gear is not ok with the ride as the gear problem appears a lot and 5 gears aren’t enough and won’t make us feel ok. For 150cc even 5 gears feel less as other bikes have 6 gears for the same 150cc bike. The power of the bike lags a lot compared to other bikes and even for the 5 gear the bike may reach max of 115kmph but if they improve the horse power and one more gear then for sure the bike may reach max of 135-150. The bike doesn’t make any problem for long ride but still the tire pressure engine oil and general service needs to be done before taking it for a long ride. The best part of this bike is the mileage as this bikes appearance is good and feels like a hulk and for me it give a mileage of around 55 in city and 58 on long ride. However the suzuki company says that bike give about 64kmpl yet its compromising mileage as it gives near of 64. The one more best thing is the display it has a awesome work on the display of speedometer which is digital and even the gear indication, time, speedometer, trips(main trip+2trips a&b), adjustment of rpm limit and everything makes it a good speedometer. Coming to the exhaust of the bike it has a twin exhaust and the best part which it gives is the exhaust and it’s one kind of a great thing. The mono shock absorber is quite a great thing and even the front shock absorber but still due to the single handle the shock absorber may be effected. The look of the bike is super but depends on the colour which you choose. If you go for special edition, black and blue it’s a good choice and if you choose white red and some other then it might feel weird after a few days.

    4. Coming to the service it’s been good servicing from suzuki and a great work done by them and even the mileage will be constant as the service will make it to be constant. Yet the need to concentrate more on gear as it’s the most disappointing thing in service or in the bike as it hang up in the middle while changing the gear.

    5. Pros

    Best mileage

Good bike for the best price

Awesome appearance for low price and it appears to be like a super bike.

    Nice body shape

Special edition mat finish colour is superb

    Good servicing

Efficient petrol tank of 12 litres

    Disk break are quite advanced

    Cons

    Gear problem

Needs to improve with the power of the engine

Needs to improve with the head light

    Needs to improve the seat

Concentrate more on adding more gear

Suddenly gets off it not maintained well

    Fiber body

    Tire grip

    Horn

    Mirrors too

    Tips for other riders

Use nitrogen gas for tires. Make sure you wash your bike once in a week and don’t use detergent or any kind. Just a water wash later add a polish. Make proper visit to the service on the due dates. Change the nitrogen in tires for everyone 500KM. At the least have 2ltrs of petrol in tank. Use genuine parts if any damage. Take the bike only to the service centre only rather then anywhere else. Use clutch and break while stopping and don’t ignite continuously. Don't run your bike while choke is on unless it’s very needy. Don’t stop ignition until the bike is at rest. Use riding gears like helmets and gloves shoes. Change gears smoothly rather the applying more pressure on it.

  • Best in class but not as good as R15.

    Amit Rajpure

Best bike in this segment but after sales service is poor. Mileage and power is quite good. Spare parts and maintenance is on the lower side. Chain sprocket lasts 30k kilometers. Power and handling is absolutely great. Breaking is pretty good . I owned single channel abs model with fuel injector. Very refined engine.

    Disk break are quite advanced

    Cons

    Gear problem

Needs to improve with the power of the engine

Needs to improve with the head light

    Needs to improve the seat

Concentrate more on adding more gear

Suddenly gets off it not maintained well

Best bike in this segment but after sales service is poor. Mileage and power is quite good. Spare parts and maintenance is on the lower side. Chain sprocket lasts 30k kilometers.

    Divyansh Dubey

    Pros

looks, styling, built, handling, engine, power delivery, braking, acceleration, ride quality

    cons

headlamp brightness, no rear disc brake, less aggressive seating posture

  • Best in price range

    Dipesh Palod

  • Head turner

    Divyansh Dubey

    Pros

looks, styling, built, handling, engine, power delivery, braking, acceleration, ride quality

    cons

headlamp brightness, no rear disc brake, less aggressive seating posture
