  • A smooth and light-weight bike without any friction

    D. Bala Subrahamanyam

Buying experience: superb. I was looking for 110 cc segment bikes. I had pretty good options with hero, honda, yamaha and tvs, the on-road price in kerala came out to be about rs. 62,000/- including all accessories. The showroom personals were quite friendly and expressive.

Finally, i may say 9/10 in riding experience.

Riding experience: its my fourth bike. Earlier i had (1) kinetic boss; (2) bajaj discover; (3) yamaha ss 125. Suzuki hayate is my fourth bike. Having got experienced with my previous bikes, i find suzuki hayate quite light-weight, user friendly, friction less and smooth in riding. Since its 113 cc bike, riding on mountain hills with a pillion rider may not be quite attractive, but for a single person, its perfect. Seat is quite comfortable. The handle position is extremely comfortable in riding. Change of gears is purely smooth with literally no friction at all. You can ride at a speed of 20 kmph in 4th gear, and still you won't feel it.

Finally, i may say 8/10 in riding experience.

Details about looks, performance etc.: it offers three colors at present. I took silver oost, which is naturally catchy. Right now, i don't know how my bike will look after few years, but presently its quite attractive in appearance and looks. Front as well as rear side appearance is superb. I am more than happy that this bike is stand alone compared to all other 110 cc segment bikes. And probably, this is only the bike with tubeless tires in so reasonable price.

Finally, i will give 8/10 in this category.

Servicing and maintenance: i won't comment right now in this category, as i am yet to finish some long rides and get it serviced. But as any other new bike, it appears maintenance free.

I reserve my marks for post-service period.

    Pros and cons:

Advantages: if you are planning to own a 110 cc segment bike with brilliant looks and want to keep the bike for your own usage for 6+ years, this is the most suitable bike. I don't see any problems in riding, handling or maintenance. Price is also a positive part. It comes with 2 years warranty with an option for +3 years extended warranty. Like any other model, the extended warranty appears attractive, but most of the expensive parts are not covered in this warranty, still its worth taking, as the price of extended warranty is just rs. 700/- or so for 3 years. Positives are look, comfort in riding and friction less engine with smooth gears.

Disadvantages: suzuki is yet to prove its credentials in 110 and 125 cc bikes. Its unable to give a strong competition to famous companies like yamaha, hero or honda. The servicing centers are also not as wide as other companies. The spare parts may also not be available at ease (unless you are in contact with a very good service center). A compatible seat cover, tank cover and other accessories are not easily available. Still, there are less negatives as compared to its positives. Even though, the company claims a mileage of about 75 kmpl or so, but it may not give a running mileage of more than 60 kmpl in city roads.

    One year in use.

    9000Kms (approx)

do regular commuting and occasional weekend trips.

    Points to be noted:

    - it's a reliable bike.

    - Power and torque is okay given its a 113cc.

    - Mileage 50 to 65kmpl depending upon maintenance and riding.

    - Vibration kicks in at 57-60kmph but manageable till 70kmpl.

It's one of a kind and that might be a reason it is not that popular in the market.

It doesn't score high on mileage, and most people looking for a 110cc commuter considers it to be a priority.

On the other hand given the price, the looks it offered is pretty good.

  • Be unique with Hayate

    Veluthambi Nachimuthu

I bought Hayate older version in Jan 2013. price was Rs 53600 in Tiruchengode. More person scolded me that why you are going to suzuki bikes which are not having resale value. i didn't bother about it .because i love suzuki .
I use it for my daily ride of 40kms. feel comfortable while ride at maximum of 50kmph.if crosses 65kmph,starts to vibrate..
maximum speed achieved was 90kmph. maximum mileage 70kmpl.
looks not bad in older version... current version looks good.very less engine noise..
servicing at authorised centre is OK..outside service cost is somewhat lower than own centre.i have crossed around 48000km in 5 years. changed chain sprocket in 26000km. changed rear tyre in 29340km. front MRF tyre is still running. may be run up to 50000km. changed battery after 4 years..
    maintenance cost not high..
    pros:
less noise, good pickup, doesn't need to change gear frequently in speed breakers, cushion sheet , very good suspension.
    Cons:
In older version, fiber materials quality not good like back tail, side fiber..
30 percent spares not available instantly in all Suzuki service centre.
back side ,no tyre grip as back side weight is less..(need to use high friction tyre than company tyre)
Poor marketing of suzuki made Hayate as not a famous one.

    Shilpa Mahesh Sadawarte

I hope this bike is likely to be hayate 2013-2014. However, in vain. There is much more lacuna it's engine & silencer voice/sound also seat lock & seat width, screw also it's made up only in finer. I totally unsatisfied by this bike hayate. I also opined that suzuki hayate 2014 is the best bike it's engine and silencer voice is very smooth as honda shine. I again expect from company to made next hayate bike likely to be hayate 2014 as it's engine and silencer smooth sound & firing also seat lock & width like honda shine.

Suzuki hayate ep is much better than honda, hero, bajaj and other 110 cc bike in all respects. I get mileage about 60 km in city. It smoothly run on top gear at even low speed in city condition. My all family members just love ride of this.I suppose less sell of this bike is due to poor marketing and dealers reluctance.

Great bike in the price range and the engine size. One thing i feel that one will feel the ride.Only negative is that the chain sprocket set life is not good, i replaced after 18000 kms. It looks good and design is also aerodynamics. Rider will not feel any disturbance while passing any heavy vehicle like truck or bus.

  • I am totally unsatisfied

I have been using this bike since 2012 and amazing experience never stopped working and it is now running at 58000 kms and mileage is awesome at 58/kmpl

smooth ride i am an environmental lover and changed engine oil at 5000kms this bike is giving amazing results. I advise you not to listen to uneducated mechanics who asks us to change oil below 2500kms check oil and change when required.

  • My awesome suzuki hayate ep

    Ashok Narhare

Suzuki hayate ep is much better than honda, hero, bajaj and other 110 cc bike in all respects. I get mileage about 60 km in city. It smoothly run on top gear at even low speed in city condition. My all family members just love ride of this.I suppose less sell of this bike is due to poor marketing and dealers reluctance.

Before suzuki hayate i used honda unicorn 150 cc. But compared to honda, hayate is best bike for regular use. Even i am getting good mileage and low maintenance cost. I never faced any problem with my bike from last 2 years.

It's really good bike i am enjoying a lot while driving to my office

  • Feel it

    Sumit Jain

Great bike in the price range and the engine size. One thing i feel that one will feel the ride.Only negative is that the chain sprocket set life is not good, i replaced after 18000 kms. It looks good and design is also aerodynamics. Rider will not feel any disturbance while passing any heavy vehicle like truck or bus.
