Yamaha unveiled the version 2.0 of the SZ-RR at the closing ceremony of their 'Mission 10,000 km' event in Chennai. The manufacturer launched the updated motorcycle for the buyers looking for a fuel-efficient and fairly powerful bike.
The cosmetic upgrades on the new bike are minimal yet give the motorcycle a fresh look. There are new shrouds on the fuel tank and the bike now sports new paint schemes. The handlebar holder gets a new 'SZ' logo and the instrument cluster is new. While the other panels remain the same, the bike gets new tubeless tyres.
The Yamaha SZ-RR V 2.0 is now equipped with the new Blue Core technology as seen on the latest version of the FZ-S and Fazer. The bike is powered by the 149cc single-cylinder Blue Core engine that produces 11.9bhp of power and 12.8Nm of torque. Though the power has gone down by 1.1bhp, the torque remains the same and the bike is now expected to offer 11 per cent better fuel economy than the previous engine. This motor comes mated to the five-speed constant mesh gearbox but misses the fuel-injection system.
By adding it to the 150cc commuter segment of motorcycles in India, Yamaha has pitched the Yamaha SZ-RR V 2.0 against the Honda CB Unicorn, Hero Achiever and the Bajaj V15. The Yamaha SZ-RR 2.0 is priced at Rs 67,803 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Yamaha SZ RR V 2.0 is available in the following colours in India.
1/4
Ivory White
Double Tap to Zoom
The ARAI mileage of Yamaha SZ RR V 2.0 is 50 kmpl. The average of the SZ RR V 2.0 is 45 kmpl, as per the owners of the bike.

I am using this bike for 11 years.Buying experience was very good.Best comfortable sitting for me as per my height.Riding experience also good but when i use rear brakes the rear tyre sleeps often..Overall bike is best. But engine problems are as it is since date of purchase. While company servicing team or engineers also unable to find the problem.Speed stuck after 70 km/h.Pickup also good. But engine leaps many times.Maintainance is so so.Servicing cost high while problems remains same after servicing.Disk breaks are not durable. Stuck with tyre all the time.Self is awesome. It starts in one try in winter after 11 years of using.Mileage is below 40 km/lSo over all bike is good. But service cost and experience is very bad.

If there is an engine problem then don't compromise at service centre.Dont take back bike until engine problem solved. Keep extra fuses. Check refractor after 3to 5 years it keeps battery down on expiry. Check air filter every time.

It gives you a good ride and is stylish also. It can drive easily in traffic. Good mileage for 150 cc bike, comfortable riding, overall a good riding experience. Engine sound is smooth. The looks are stylish and impressive. I have been using this bike for last 1 years. Its the finest bike in the segment with a high-powered engine. You should have a look at it. You will love this.

Under rated but very practical Japanese machine

Using SZ-RR since 2014. Engine is super refined and ageless. Does not require much maintenance. Till today it's performing just like a new machine. Amazing pickup, awesome clutch-gear, easy to negotiate through jam-packed traffic. And believe me it's impossible to beat it in Kolkata streets.Planning to upgrade, but it's impossible to sell this Japanese machine

Very good bike , i have bought it in october 2016 and now its near 2 years with me . If service on time and engine oil change ( i use 10 w 40 7100 motul for every 4000 interval of change ) should change on time . I have not spent a single money behind engine except i change speedometer wire cable for 3 times till now and clutch cable , accelerator cable for once. I have also take it to north sikkim , actually gurudongmar lake ...Take it as a second hand is a good option .
