Kawasaki Z900 is a streetfighter available in two variants in India - Standard and Special Edition. This Special Edition gets all the updates from the 2020 model except a BS6 compliant engine. The Kawasaki Z900 uses a 948cc, inline-four cylinder engine that generates 123.3bhp of power and 98.6Nm of torque.
Kawasaki’s Z800 was the most affordable CBU available from Team Green in India, and also the most affordable four-cylinder model in the lineup. If you preferred a little more oomph and a lot more style, there was the Z1000 as well. The Z900 replaces both models in most markets with a combination of light weight, and in the case of the Z800, more power. The Z900 clocks in at 12bhp more than the Z800 and weighs a massive 23kg less, thanks to a new trellis frame. Its performance is further enhanced by a short ratio gearbox. It now gets a slipper and assist clutch which means the lever is light and progressive. There isn’t ride-by-wire throttle or any other modern electronics to speak of, with the exception of ABS. The suspension is adjustable for everything except compression.
The Z900 is available in three paint schemes – grey/red, black/white, and all black. The tail section leaves a little bit of the subframe exposed, and the subframe is coloured the same as the graphics and the wheel rims, which makes for a very alluring new look. Competition includes products like the Suzuki GSX-S750, Ducati Monsters 797 and 821, Yamaha MT-09, and the Triumph Street Triple 765.
The average of the Z900 [2018-2019] is 15 kmpl, as per the owners of the bike.
