- 2021 Aprilia RSV4 unveiled
- Gets major changes to styling, features and engine
- Could be launched in India sometime later this year
Aprilia has taken the wraps off the all-new RSV4 that now comes with major updates for 2021.
The most noticeable difference is the styling which is borrowed from its younger sibling, the RS660. The extremely aggressive front end has been swapped for a more aerodynamic-look complete with winglets integrated into the double-wall fairings and a triple LED headlight unit. This headlamp setup includes perimeter DRLs with cornering lights as well. Furthermore, Aprilia has also played around with the ergonomics, giving more space to the rider along with a more relaxed and friendlier riding position.
The new Aprilia RSV4’s electronics package has also been upgraded with a slightly larger TFT display, Marelli 11MP ECU and a six-axis IMU. Moreover, the ride-by-wire throttle and APRC control have also been tweaked. And that’s not all. The new RSV4 also boasts of a multi-level engine brake control and six ride modes; three for the track and three for the street. Aprilia has also thrown in a lighter swingarm on the 2021 RSV4 that takes inspiration from the company’s RS-GP MotoGP bike. And to top it all off, the new Aprilia RSV4 also gets a slight bump in engine displacement from 1077cc to 1099cc and is now Euro-5 compliant. The motor churns out a healthy 217 horsepower.
Now Aprilia is also offering the RSV4 in a more track-focused Factory variant that comes with Brembo Stylema brakes, a semi-active suspension setup from Ohlins as well as forged aluminum wheels. It is also offered in two unique colours- Aprilia Black and Lava Red. Meanwhile, the standard RSV4 gets a Dark Losail paint scheme.
While the international market will soon see the 2021 RSV4, we can expect India to get the motorcycle in limited numbers by the end of this year.
