Bajaj Auto has updated its 110cc commuter motorcycle, the Platina 110 with the addition of the first-in-segment anti-lock braking system. The Platina 110 range rivals the likes of the TVS Star City Plus, Hero Splendor Plus, and Honda CD 110 Dream, and here we list the top-five highlights of this motorcycle.
Improved Equipment
As mentioned earlier, the Bajaj Platina 110 gets the safety net of single-channel ABS. Further, this variant of the Platina 110 range also benefits from a digital speedometer that includes features such as ABS indicator, gear position indicator, and gear guidance. Other equipment on this motorcycle includes a halogen headlight with an LED DRL, conventional turn indicators, and an 11-litre fuel tank.
Colours and Design
Bajaj Auto will offer this motorcycle in three colours – Ebony Black, Cocktail Wine Red, and Saffire Blue. Meanwhile, the styling remains similar to the rest of the Platina 110 variants and this ABS-equipped version retains design elements such as a single-pod headlight with LED DRL, tinted visor, body-coloured front fender, single-piece seat, single-piece pillion grab rail, side-slung exhaust with chrome heat shield, and alloy wheels on both ends. The motorcycle also features bold graphics across the bodywork along with the ‘Platina’ badge on the fuel tank and the ‘110 ABS’ decal on the rear panel.
Engine and Performance
The mechanical specifications remain unaltered and the ABS variant of the Platina 110 retains the 115.45cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Linked to a five-speed gearbox, this motor produces a maximum output of 8.44bhp at 7,000rpm and a peak torque of 9.81Nm at 5,000rpm. The claimed top-speed of this motorcycle is rated at 90kmph.
Hardware
The shock absorption tasks on the Platina 110 are performed by telescopic forks at the front and dual springs with Nitrox at the back. The braking setup on the ABS variant comprises a disc at the front and a drum unit at the back. Further, the Platina 110 range rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are shod in 80/100-section tubeless tyres on both ends.
Price
This is the most expensive version of the Platina 110 range and it has been priced at Rs 72,224. In comparison, the combined braking system (CBS) equipped Platina 110 drum and disc brake variants are available at Rs 68,544 and Rs 69,216, respectively.
