Fiat to buy MV Agusta?

What happens when one automotive company buys another? Both become stronger. And we may see this happening with two Italian giants, Fiat and MV Agusta. There are rumours that the auto major has bought the premium motorcycle maker. However, both remain tightlipped about this development.

MV Agusta is in need of more cash, as it’s in financial debts that may lead to the company getting the defunct status. Few reports suggest that Mv Agusta would need a lot of money to grow and sustain but Fiat might not invest if it finds the brand is not a huge revenue maker. Fiat currently owns a series of brands – Ferrari, Chrysler, Jeep and Maserati. Adding a sportbike brand won’t not only increase their brand equity but also increase their overall growth.

Few months ago, Audi bought Ducati but there are still no reports if this deal was any good for the German car manufacturer in terms of revenue.
