Bimota left the world in awe when it revealed the radical Tesi H2 at the 2019 EICMA. The Italian bikemaker plans to drop jaws yet again with its upcoming motorcycle, christened the KB4.
The Bimota KB4 was teased at last year’s EICMA itself. However, the new rendering paints a clearer picture of what the bike would look like. It draws heavy inspiration from the 1970 Bimota KB1 and sports a full, bubble-fairing that houses a circular headlamp. Meanwhile, the well-toned fuel tank and stubby, yet sharp rear section give it a modern twist. Moreover, the shape of the KB4’s exhaust has Bimota’s eccentric design language written all over it.
Under its retro-inspired skin is a 1043cc, 140bhp-producing, inline-four engine borrowed from the Kawasaki Z1000. For those not in the know, the Japanese manufacturer has a 49.9 per cent stake in Bimota. And interestingly, the KB1 also used the same engine as the original Z1000 back in the day. Furthermore, the rendering suggests that the KB4 is likely to come with Ohlins-sourced inverted forks and mono shock; a humble option as compared to the radical hub-steered Tesi H2.
While Bimota hasn’t revealed any launch plans for the KB4, it is expected to be globally unveiled by the end of this year. And unfortunately, it is highly unlikely to make its way to India anytime soon.
