The Rio Li Plus is a low-speed, short-distance electric scooter by the Bengaluru-based EV maker, Ampere Electric. It boasts mundane specifications but an affordable price tag which makes it a no-nonsense everyday commuter. Notably, a driving license is not required to ride this scooter.
Powering the Rio Li is a 1.3kWh lithium-ion battery which is removable and offers a riding range of close to 70km. This battery takes around 5-6 hours to get fully charged. As for the performance, with a hub-mounted 250W BLDC motor, it can attain a top speed of 25kmph which puts it in the low-speed e-scooter category. With a maximum loading capacity of 120kg, the Ampere Rio Li Plus rides on 10-inch wheels that are suspended by telescopic forks and dual springs while braking is taken care of by a drum at both ends.
