I was really not sure if i should buy this scooter or no due to many reasons, previously i owned one pulsar 150 & then i was using one activa, wanted to upgrade, thought of buying one bike again but the same old story as scooters are more practical, aprilia sr 150 was already in market, so finally decided to have a test drive, so went to showroom & took a test drive, although it was a short drive felt this one is good overall, breaks are fantastic when used properly, rare brake hardly locks up, suspension was on harder side & acceleration was very good, looks i was not so sure at first but it grew on me later & i liked it. That was feb 2017 & now it’s almost been 8 months from that day & i have completed 6000 odd km on this scooter which basically feels like a nice handling motorcycle. Have been to many road trips & it’s always been fun. It reaches speedo indicated 100 km/h very easily, 85- 90 km/h cruse is as effortless it could be. I have had some issues like my engine was making some kind of noise, but it was sorted out by the service guys. Again as the suspension is on harder side the body makes sounds if you are riding on some gravel or not so nice roads. The tires are super grippy & break worked very fine even in rainy condition. Tried out some twisties also & it was effortless to make it change direction. It’s a fun scooter to ride & no other scooter can come close to its performance even many bikes will have difficulties to catch it . Right now this scooter is returning a mileage of 30 to 35 km/l & i don’t think this scooter is for good mileage. And i would sum up by saying after all i can still carry bag full of grocery from supermarket on this.

Buying experience :- it is very excited and attractive to buy this bike

Riding experience :- its very smooth at riding but over speed for controlling students we can't stop them

Details about looks, performance:- its very good looking bike and performance is excellent but for middle class families its not preferable, it drinks petrol a lot compared to other bikes

Servicing and maintenance:- you must maintain it like your girlfriend and you must and should service your bike for every 3 months

  • True aprilia sr 150 ownership review!

    Talha Ahmad

Owned this machine for 6 months now, and having a not so good experience with it. If you love scooter riding at high speeds, this is a definite yes. But if you are not willing to empty you pockets then shift to a dio or jupiter cause this things drinks a lot of petrol. After 6 months, i am getting an average of 27-30 kmpl after riding on normal city roads with quite expected bumps. Though this thing goes fast but takes a dig out of your pocket. Not only this but the stiff suspension gives the feel of riding bicycle with no suspension. Above these, the scooter is quite good. If you want a light machine for touring purposes then this a go. The looks are just amazing! just like every other teen, i also got hold pf this just because of its look. This thing rules the scooter market of India. If you are going for this, be prepared to get a lot of attention on the road! the handling is very good. Now talking about the service, i have had a bad experience in this sector. 6 months have passed and i haven’t received the rc, owner card, nothing! I've been complaining since 2 months now but the answer is no every time! other than this if you meet with an accident (god forbid) on this scooter, nothing less than 10000 will be accepted.

Please don’t hate on me for this. It’s just an individual experience. You can do your own researches. Thank you. Ride safe.

Don’t ride the scooter on high speeds till you complete 1000-1200 kms as it will reduce the mileage because the engine settles to the roads on which you are riding in that time period.

    Aprilia sr150 race:

    Buying experience:

I really waited for it release in Bangalore since the time it was launched and made it's debut, and i was it 1st one in the Bangalore to have the race edition delivered here, huff.. What a satisfaction it was.. The moment it was out from showroom i felt like i was marketing for aprilia, it was an absolute head turner, every one was and still keep asking about it, many question's.

We've never had such an amazing colour combination moped yet. It just looks fantastic.

    Riding experience:

Love the seating position, it's just feels like you're sitting on an aprilia super bike. Just the start makes you roar and the adrenaline kicks in and you're ready to race.

    Details about looks, performance:

The more i say the more i want to say about the looks and the colour combination, i wanted to buy this the moment i was this, the red alloys, the larger wheels & the stickers on it looks and makes it the most sportiest scooter ever made, love it. The dual tone seats is like the icing on the cake and it's no less than a motor bike.

    Servicing and maintenance:

The after sales support is bad, because of the availability of the accessories.

    Servicing is not too bad.

    Cons:

    Mileage less than 35

Tight rear shocks (be ready to feel each bump)

    Head light not powerful

Would have loved to have an engine on/off switch.

    Very weak side stand.

    Not a comfortable for ladies.

    Non availability of accessories.

    No digital console

  • Bike is awesome but Service Centre is bad

    Prabhjit Singh Sondh

I had purchased the race edition in Dec 2017 so in the initial stage it was awesome bike but later as the days passed it automatically turns off in between the road and also the service is pathetic I give 0 star for service as my rear wheel some noise was coming so told to check but the service guy (mechanic) told that the alloy has to be changed because of some manufacturing issue as its been in most of the scooters but the supervisor in front of the mechanic denied that there is no problem and he removed the wheel and scrubbed it a lot and told that it's now proper as I left the service centre on the same day the noise was coming so I again visited but he said that u are assuming that the noise is coming and he again denied so after visiting the whole week and convincing him I had no choice rather I had to complain to the vespa company so after that they told me that your problem will be solved and visit the service station again and then the noise was so laud that he had to admit that there was some manufacturing defect this was my 1 St case later I had to visit there for brake issue (rear). I am very much disappointed with the service of aprilia as the vehicle is awesome but the service persons are very irritating.

  • Excellent & value 4 money

    Ibrahim Shahil

Hi all, i recently bought this bike/scooter/motobike. I clocked over 700 kms and its still in run-in period and i am already blown away with its performance.

    Intro:

First of all, i am 33 yrs of age and my height is 5'4. Initially i was very skeptical in buying this as i don't know if it will be comfortable for me and my height.I took a test ride and was pretty much impressed with the power it produces and the light weight nature of this bike(its just 122kgs). While my mind played with me to settle for 110 cc commuter scooters, my heart kept saying to go for aprilia.

I took good 2 months reading all reviews of this bike in youtube and in team-bhp, xbhp, mouthshut and every blog that has "aprilia sr 150" in the google search results and finally took decision to buy this and i don't regret buying it. It has become my best buddy now.

    Pros:

I don't feel like i am riding a scooty. It gives immense confidence to zip through traffic and through cornering. I commute 55kms daily during normal to peak traffic timings and this bike is a beast in over taking and zipping through all those 110cc and 125 cc scooters/bikes and mind you, this little beast can give tough competition to 150 cc segment as well.

I haven't realised its full potential yet since its still in run-in period but i am sure it can easily cross 110kmph. At traffic signals, its a eye ball grabber and the moment signal goes green.Swoosh.Goes the bike and all 100~150 cc bikes eats the dust of my scooty. I feel like it has the dna of a ktm duke.

    Facts:

if you are keen on mileage and want more than 50kmpl, don't bother buying this bike. It wont given more than 32~35 kmpl in real time city traffic.

the suspension is so stiff and we feel each and every bump. Comfort is not as bad, but don't expect super comfort on this bike as its not designed for comfort, rather its a performance oriented bike.

it tends to skid in a patchy and gravel road, so need to be extra careful riding at high speeds on these kind of roads.

cant fit full face helmet under the boot.

this is not just for college going students. It can easily handled by all age persons as long as they are interested in performance.

there are vibrations when engine is idle but once it comes alive, we don't feel vibrations.

head light visibility is not so good at nights.

    can easily cruise at 80-90kmph.

Verdict: i can definitely recommend this little beast for every one if you are looking for a performance oriented bike at reasonable price. Take a test ride and decide. If you are in a confusion to take which bike, toss a coin. If you want to toss it again. You know which one to go for;) ride safe.

Buying aprilia sr150 a moto scooter would be tough for anyone, it's a monster in this segment and truly i'm experiencing it. The tyres, the torque, the only masculine body bike, the biking feel and good riding comfort makes it perfect one. Thanks to the dealer and service, i'm very satisfied. No cons yet & ladies please stay away, now this is the male thing!

A must have for the millennials and for the ones who feel like them ! an excellent scooter to have, for quick dashes in traffic. Note : this not a scooter for your grocery shopping or dropping off your mom at her satsang. The pillion seat is high and sporty - not ideal to ride strangers nor family ... You know what i mean :)

The front discs have a very sharp bite but are excellent once you get used to them.

The suspension and forks are set for a sporty ride : hence not a nice experience to go through the countless craters left by your municipality's greed .

Thank you. Ride safe.

Tips for other riders

Please first check the service center u have near by of the vehicle as good service center is must to avoid regular visit to the service center. I advice you to first who had purchased it in your area first talk with them about the service center is good or not
