If you are planning to buy a bike that is powerful, comfortable and stylish, then your search should stop with this bike. Bajaj avenger takes care of all the comforts of the rider, be it seating position or ride on bumpy roads or sheer power. 1) I purchased this bike around 6 years back in delhi. The buying experience was okay, but just the look of this bike was much more rewarding for me. 2) riding experience has been awesome. I have taken my bike to the Himalayas and it treads the path without any problem. The maximum I drove in a day was appx 600 km, when I came back to delhi from manali. Besides comfort, this bike is pretty reliable. In the past 6 years, this bike has never failed me(touch wood!)3) this bike is certainly a head turner. Performance is beyond expectations. It needs regular service and it will never give you a chance to raise any concerns.4) I have ensured that the bike even after 6 years is sent only to trusted service men(preferably showrooms). As I said, regular service is what this bike needs.5) this bike has mostly positive points and very few negatives. I have already shared several positives, let me share a few cons too. This bike after a few years feels a little rough(however, regular service takes care of that issue). Mileage is a concern for me, it has never given me more than 40.Irrespective of the minor shortcomings, this bike definitely makes you 'feel like a god.

I have purchased this bike at the end of 2016. After that, i am facing several issues. The main issue is related to the battery and electric circuit of the bike. For the electric circuit, the battery is always damaged with over heated. Many times I have gone to their authenticate service centre. They always make this right with a huge bill of replacement parts. Then after 6-7 months, it's happening again. I have damage already 6-7 batteries in the last 5years. You can calculate the cost of damaged batteries as well. It's really pathetic experience to have this bike. Besides that, I have other issues with this bike like the chain issue which is unable to resolve by the service centre guys.

Avenger 220 is a classic Indian bike with excellent looks and low in maintenance, i drive my bike only on highways at top speed of 130kmph to 140kmph solo and give shock and awe to other vehicles on highways, you should have the confidence and experience while driving avi at top speeds, braking and stability is just the knowledge you should learn about the bike while cruising at top-speeds, at a price under 1.5 lakhs is reply to high-end bikes.

I will start with comfort: yes, this bike is rally a cruise bike with good seat and control.Power: for long ride this bike gives challenges as it is having power of only 220cc. Grip: since rear wheel dimension is small, most of the time bike skids on a steep turns since height of bike is low you can easily control it.Engine: is gives bit of challenge for long ride 100km but for small city ride 30-40km is good.Battery: battery gave me challenge when i left my bike ideal for a bout a week, electric start was not working so i had to push and start bike since kick start is not available.

The cruiser with power

I actually got the avenger 220 (2012) model as a gift so there was no buying experience involved. When it comes to riding the bike it is smooth and has great power delivery, also the bike is able to absorb the pot holes and keep you stable in your seat. The best thing about the avenger is its low seating, which is very comfortable and will not give you back pain if you decide to ride longer. The bike has a very masculine look and the rear fat tire gives it a very rough look. The black colour suits the bike and has great power. When it comes to performance the bike really excels and can easily put other bike at bay. The one thing that i feel disappointing is the maintenance cost. You can find the service centre easily but when it comes to replacing parts like turn indicators or mirrors you can easily spend rs 600. The spare parts are quite expensive. The good thing about the bike is that it is very comfortable and has good power. The con about the bike is that it is heavy compared to other bikes.

Perfect bike for this range

1. Bike price was perfect for 220 cc.
2. Excellent ride, bike is very strong as compare to new avenger, max speed 130km/h and keep back indicator in mind when you ride, i changed it 3 times :-( .
3. Looks was excellent, every parts of bike is excellent compare to new avenger.
4. Do service on every 2000 km and but bajaj service center charges more as compare to local mechanic.
5. Cons--
1. Some time mileage gives good but sometime not i don't know why i this happening.
2. Back indicator was not good it may be little flexible.

Hi i am writing this review after riding bajaj avenger 220 dtsi for 2 years and 3 months before this i had yamaha fazer 2009 model which i used for almost 6 years. After riding fazer (semi sporty looks) i decided to go for cruiser type bike and honestly there are many cruiser options were available but bajaj avenger 220 was within my budget. So here is my user experience with bajaj avenger 220:
Pros :
* good looks
* price is low as compared to other cruiser bikes
* easily customizable
* average is ok for a 220cc cruiser bike (i still get around 40+ kmlp)
* riding comfort is good
Cons :
* quality of the materials used such as switches, seat is of very cheap quality considering its a bike round rs.1 lac
* maintenance of the bike is quite expensive as i have to spend around 1.5-3k monthly on the maintenance of the bike
* brakes, clutches, disc are not that strong as within 2 years i have changed brake shoe, clutch wire disc plate so many times
* mrf zapper tyres which are company fitted does not provide good grip and in 20000 km i have to change both the tyres
* the most important disadvantage of opting bajaj bikes are their service centers. The servicing of bajaj service centers are worst i have never faced such problems with my yamaha fazer.
So this is my personal experience with bajaj avenger 220. Opinions and experience may change from person to person.

Tips for other riders
Change oil after every 2500-3000km use v shaped handle bar if you can ride as it reduces vibrations in your bike use wide tyres for your bike as they provide better grip and stability and always use original products for your bike.

Price way to more than the product received!!
Very poor average !!!
Its not harley that you can afford petrol mileage with this bike.
Spare parts are not easily available with the service centre. Bajaj showrooms customer care is not upto mark..
Low ride helps you to stick to ground and helps you to move easy with comfort..
But above points push you to... Not to but this bike.
Jumper get jams after a period of time. Its like not functioning at all.
You will always find problem with your mirror. It will easily come out and will not fit properly again.
Service is way to expensive. I even have bullet 550 and the service cost matches with it...
Not worth until you need low ride and you can manage petrol expenses easily
