My dream come true with avenger 150 street

Style ever since bajaj auto launched cruise and street variants, i was closely following view, review and experts' comments about street (especially 150) versions and almost each and every one of them compaired it with harley davidson street 750. When i bought this motorcycle last week on my wedding anniversary, i got the same feeling when people started asking me on road, in parking, in my office and everywhere i ride on it. People wonders if this is a new version of harley, since it has no bajaj branding. I am simply loving this.
Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox being a 150cc engine, avenger outperforms other 150cc bikes available in the market. Pick-up is quite surprising with over 150kg kerb weith. I could not check fuel efficiency till now, since i filled it with rs.700 Petrol on day one and completed 230 kms in 7 days and is still running in on position. So i have to wait about milege performance. Gearbox performance is awesome, it is so smooth and silent.
Ride quality & handling ride quality and handling is excellent. It feels like you're riding the biking seating on a sofa.
Final words ever since bajaj launched avenger series, i dreamed to own one but it could not fit into my budget then. But now with a 150cc street i am able to get one and i can produly say that i now own a cruiser bike and am a proud avenger street 150 owner. And yes, it feels like god!
areas of improvement a pillion backrest could have been given for more comfort for the person seating behind. Tubeless tyres are also welcomed, but no complain about them since bajaj is already working on developing tubeless for avengers.

cons
nothing much to complain

Style 10/10. A perfect design and color consept.
Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox my bike got a problem, it dont start easily. Needs a choke every 4-5 hr halt.
Ride quality & handling ride quality not smooth uptill now. I feel a fuel supply problem. Handling just perfect. Nothing better you can get.
Final words
hi,
i purchase avenger street 150, on 24/12/15. Driven 320 km's. Till date.
1. The bike has a persistent starting problem. It takes a 10 min. Warm up with high throttal or choke.
2. It continuously skips rhythum or say do not produce a smooth ride, you can feel jerks in throttal.
3. It feels like as, there is a blockage in fuel supply. It feels same as it happens when there is water in fuel supply.
4. After every ride, a leakage of fuel can be seen from fuel filter pipe. About 5-10 ml petrol leaks after every 4-5km ride.
* The bike is awesome looking thing. Very eye catching, super cool color and design.
* Got enough power to cruise in city and a long drive to out skirts. But a little less for long distance journey.
* Easily touches 100km/hr. But not 110.
Areas of improvement may be my personal, but fuel injection got some serious problem.

Style styling of avenger is awesome and the new look makes it a head turner. I have a lot of people asking me about the bike and taking long second glances.
Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox engine is smooth, gear box is smooth, i have not yet experienced any vibrations( i haven't yet taken it to speeds > 80, as i have ridden just 150 kms yet, waiting for the 1st service).
Acceleration is bit dull though at first, but easily gains speed. Engine heating up is bit worry though. It gets hot but the service guys have told me that it will decrease after 1st service. Fuel economy is excellent. I rode it in normal traffic and got around 45+ kmpl (and first service is due yet.), So i think a good mileage can be expected.
Ride quality & handling riding this bike is a relaxing experience. It gives you a relaxed position allowing you to ride it easily for hours straight without causing any backpain.
After getting the hang of the bike, one can easily maneuver in the traffic owing to the wide and flatter handle bars. Low seating gives you a confidence but distance from the front may cause a bit unease at first.
Braking is where its not good. Front disc is assuring but lacks crisp whereas rear drums are loose and not reliable on sole usage.
Final words overall, avenger is excellent in style, comfort and riding. Style is eye catching and best part is you get a very good mileage in 150 cc segment without comprising anything.
Areas of improvement braking and instrument cluster. Positioning of the turn indicators is bad, as you will have to take your eyes of the road to check them. Heating is isue, if you can compromise on mileage and pay 10k, better go for 220 as it has oil cooling.

riding comfort, fuel economy and handling
cons
instrument cluster, braking

Worst experience - not a value for money - useless bike and useless service
6 years ago

I purchased bajaj avenger 150 street about 8 months ago. Its absolutely a poor experience and i will tell you why.Firstly this vehicle come without a kick start option.. Its battery is just a 4 amps one which is equal to battery on small bikes like activa, or honda pleasure... Many a times battery gets fails to supply power and cannot supply self start.. Many of the 150 cc bikes come with 7amps or 9 amps battery in them but when it comes to this avenger its just 4amps..Major disappointment,. If the bike stops in heavy traffic or when you are travelling on roads and stops all of a sudden and you have to push start believe me its the biggest insult to bike brand and the bike owner too. I am facing this issue from last 4 months. Not sure why bajaj is cheating their customers and letting them face the trouble.. Secondly the automatic lights are always on.. If you are travelling even during the day times the lights will still remain on as long as the engine ignition is on.. A little battery supplying unnecessary power and stops right when you self start.. Is just a useless thing you can ever depend on a bike for.Thirdly.. The pillion seat is so narrow and small that the pillion rider will either feel like is seating on a 4 inches wall with no balance or he bless himself with a back pain just for seating. Finally with the showroom and service centre people who will develop the biggest headache in life.. They never ever listen to customer not do their jobs properly. These are just part time workers who are trained on a very limited skills and are not capable of handling customers and theirs queries seriously. Of these experiences what i feel is bajaj just bluffing with fake product and services to customer. I am seriously regretting for purchasing my new bike from bajaj and pass on this feedback to others before they invest your hard earned money on such useless things.

Bajaj avenger is not made for 150 cc segment

Bajaj avenger is not made for 150 cc segment. I bought this bike before 2 months. So feel very upset while riding the bike due to below reasons .
1)this bikes cc should not be less than 200.
2] when there are 2 people on bike, its struggles for crossing 80.
3) there is no power in this bike.Even a 125 cc honda shine can leave it back in performance testing.
4)there is no weight in front side of bike due to which it slips too much
5) so i personally recommendations don't go for this bike instead buy 220 or above.
6)bajaj should stop this 150 version and continue only 220 or dominar 400 engine

Feel like god ride like the devil

This is a long time review of my avenger 150 street. Starting with my buying experience, i bought it from bangalore, electronic city showroom. The showroom guys were polite and patient. I was torn between the two available colors and finally chose the conventional midnight blue over the flashy cosmic red. The bike will be perpetually in vogue due to its evergreen cruiser design.
Now after 2 services and several miles later, i am still like a kid seeing his favorite ride in Disneyland.
I have done the normal oil changes only, nothing fancy yet.
I feel the bike is a bit lengthy since i test drove the naked bikes before opting for the avenger. Its meant to be ridden like cruiser and hence don't expect burning-rubber-off-tarmac performance.
The engine is pretty refined considering, it is borrowed and fine tuned from the pulsar 150. The gears slot in nicely but don't be surprised if you find some false neutrals.
The bike returns a solid 40 kmpl, but then it entirely depends on the rider. I am a pretty mellow rider interested only in cruising around rather than setting the road on fire.
Suspension is cushy this means that you cannot corner like rossi does. The dimensions also prevent this from happening.
The saddle is the biggest usp of the bike. It's like sitting on an easy chair on a cool breezy evening.
Visibility at night is decent considering that my bike is still running on the stock halogens.
Sadly however the bike is not perfect. Though not bulky, its not very nimble in bumper to bumper traffic of bangalore.
Though i knew what i was signing up for, now i feel the bike has inadequate power when i see the yamahas and hondas whizzing past.
I also had trouble reading the indicators which are placed on the fuel tank during the initial days but now am an expert in splitting my vision between the roads and the readouts
My tall friend has a beef with the bike saying that his gigantic legs touch the handlebar when he turns. After this he was never allowed to touch my bike. So that's that.
Mrf tyres and front disc does adequate job of bringing the bike to a halt but the rear drum is as useful as using your legs to brake.
Finally a price tag of 92k on road in bangalore makes this a steal and no, its no poor man's harley its the closest that you can get to feeling like god.

* Easily touches 100km/hr. But not 110.

My dream come true with avenger 150 street
9 years ago
Vipin Pandit
Pros
style, performance, ride quality, looks
cons
nothing much to complain
