Bajaj Chetak [2020-2024] is an electric scooter available in 6 variants and 12 colours. Bajaj Chetak [2020-2024] generates 4 W power from its motor. With front disc and rear drum brakes, Bajaj Chetak [2020-2024] comes up with combined braking system of both wheels.

Before Bajaj Auto became popular for its modern range of motorcycles, it was principally known for its two-wheeler scooter, namely the Bajaj Chetak. After enjoying a long and successful run with it, Bajaj took it off the shelf and shifted its focus towards motorcycles. Then, it was in 2019 that Bajaj brought back the legendary Chetak nameplate in an electric avatar.

As the name suggests, the scooter harks back to its roots by taking design cues from the iconic Chetak and giving it a contemporary and fresh look. It uses sheet metal body panels that offer a premium touch, while the smooth flowing lines, LED lighting and turn signals with sequential blinking similar to high-end cars add to its modernity. It is available in two variants – Premium and Urbane. While the former gets a TFT screen, the latter incorporates an LCD.
Bajaj also offers a new optional TecPac package which facilitates the Chetak with a host of connectivity features like turn-by-turn navigation, onboard music control, call alerts, and theme personalisation options. TacPac also introduces hill hold control and reverse mode.

The Bajaj Chetak Premium variant is equipped with a 3.2kWh IP67 rated lithium-ion battery that delivers a range of 126km. This is coupled with an electric motor producing a peak power of 4kW and 16Nm of peak torque. The top speed it can attain is 73kmph. Meanwhile, the Urbane variant is claimed to deliver a range of 113km and a top speed of 63kmph (73km with TecPac). Opting for TecPac also introduces an additional Sports mode in both variants of the Chetak. Other standard features in the Chetak Premium include self-cancelling blinkers, left and right control switches, an electronic handle lock, and a seat opening switch.

Bajaj Chetak [2020-2024] Review

  • Good Things

    • Offers a tested range of 108km
    • Instrument cluster looks modern
    • The build quality is up to the mark
  • Could be Better

    • The asking price is on the higher side
    • Underseat space is inadequate
    • Top-speed isn't enough

BikeWale's Take

The Chetak is Bajaj’s first electric scooter and is known for its attractive styling. The scooter is equipped with some latest features like fancy looking instrument cluster, LED lights and even a reverse gear. But this e-scooter is priced a bit on the higher side and is only sold in Pune and Bengaluru for now.

I was going for the TVS but the TVS EV has not performed well, the shop owner suggested Chetak, which cost me 1.18L In Rajasthan, a nice EV by Bajaj Chetak, the design is like normal scooters like access and active, big size design, sitting is a little bit uncomfortable, it goes a little down, just a little back hurts, all though not satisfied with the front design, it's like 90s scooters, but if you want to buy ev scooter I will suggest you buy Chetak by Bajaj, full metal body, runs 125kms/4hr charging time, I am happy with my scooter.

Bad experience with Chetak Urban Model 2443

      Kapil Dev

Poor quality of service. After three months Chetak EV 2443 Urban failed to start and display of screen.
It is now like trash, they do have not any mechanics to repair it. The service facility is not available at the showroom of Chetak Mohali PH II, I suggest you kindly avoid buying EV Chetak. I followed his advice to buy and bought an electric vehicle, although I was never in favor of electric vehicles

I was going for the tvs unique but the TVS EV has not performed well, the shop owner suggested Chetak, which cost me 1.18L In Rajasthan, a nice EV by Bajaj Chetak, the design is like normal scooters like access and active, big size design, sitting is a little bit uncomfortable, it goes a little down, just a little back hurts, all though not satisfied with the front design, it's like 90s scooters, but if you want to buy ev scooty. I will suggest you buy Chetak by Bajaj, full metal body, runs 125kms/4hr charging time, I am happy with my scooter.

My experience of Bajaj Chetak scooter

      Sourabh Dhamdhere

Very nice experience. The scooter is very good and the service is also very good, It very smooth riding experience, and the speed and the travel range are the best than the other eclectic scooters at this price. Also, it provides a fast-charging option. Its stylish, retro-modern design, its impressive fit and finish levels. Also, the body is fully metal.

      About chetak

It's very good for those who are searching for a budget-friendly two-wheeler and it's cheap because it's electric you don't have to worry about petrol and money, and its design is classic I love its design, they have an extended battery.
Warranty that's a good part, overall good. performance. only one thing that I am disappointed about.
In chetak, some times range shows 90 but it gives only 80 range the range depends on speed so that part you have to ignore it. over all good you can go for it.

Quality of the scooter is not up to the mark.

      Arvind Bhatia

I got a delivery of a new scooter Bajaj Chetak 3202 on 27/10/2024 evening from Bajaj Chetak Dealer Society Motors, macrobertganj, kanpur. The scooter was 64% charged with a range showing was 78kms. After taking the delivery I rode to my home at Krishnapuram around 12 kms from the showroom. After driving around 4 kms suddenly a yellow triangle appeared on the meter screen and Scotter stopped. I tried to start again the scooter but it was locked and the screen went off. I immediately called the dealer and informed him of the incident after 1 hour of standing on the road two technicians arrived. They checked the scooter and informed me that the scooter software was defective and they have taken back the scooter to the service center. Now after 1 day, I am waiting for my scooter. I suggest to everyone that Bajaj company is in a hurry to sell the scooter but the quality of the scooter is not up to the mark.
