Bajaj Discover 150S Summary

Bajaj Motorcycles has launched the Discover 150S along with its semi-faired sibling, which has been christened as the Discover 150T.The Discover 150S sits between the Discover 125T and the Discover 150T in the Indian market.

The Discover 150S features similar styling as the rest of the Discover range, however, it adopts an all-black look for the side step, chain guard and the grab rail. It also gets new graphics that usually is the main distinguishing factor among all the Discover motorcycles.
Based on the Discover 125ST platform, the new Discover 150S shares most of its components with the former. Both models, in fact, share rear mono shock absorber, front and rear mudguards, seat, tank, grab rail, alloy wheels and even the instrument console.

The Discover 150S is powered by a single-cylinder 150cc engine that produces 14bhp at 8,5000rpm and a maximum torque of 12.75Nm at 6,500rpm. This engine is mated to a five speed constant mesh gearbox with all-up gearshift pattern. The company claims an ARAI fuel efficiency of 72kmpl and has a top speed of 110kmph. Braking power comes from a 130mm drum at the front and 130mm drum at rear. There is one 240mm front disc brake option available as well.

The Bajaj Discover 150S competes with the Hero Achiever and the Yamaha SZ. It is available in four colours – dark blue, wine red, ebony black and dark bottle green.

      Rishav Paul

Riding the bike from 2015 to till date Clocked 15k plus km. Till date it has no issues ..No parts change except single clutch wire change 150rsBike is of very less maintenance Mileage 42-44kmpl in bumper to bumper traffic and 49-50in highway at constant speed of 70-80{i use only motul 7100 20w50 engine oil and draining period is 2000-2500km} Bike goes top speed of 115kmph but cruising speed of all day long is 70-75kmph. Overall nice bike i will rate it 4star out of 5 I also own a pulsar 135ls which performs similar but has 10percent less vibrations and mileage is 45kmpl more. But looks of 150f discover is eye catching And has very less vibration on using motul 7100 20w50Like if you find helpful.

My favourite bike bajaj discover 150f

      Surendra Mane

I bought bajaj discover 150f in 2014 and till today has done 35,253 k.Ms. This bike is the most comfortable bike for tall person like me with height above 176 cms with comfortable leg position, also perfect grip of thighs on fuel tank. Extremely fatigueless travel. Good fuel economy of 54 kms/litre. Smooth ride and more power due to it's 4 valve engine. Moreover, its low maintenance cost surprised me ! replaced rear brake liners and clutch cable after 35k kms. Recommended engine oil change interval is of 10k kms. However, i use to change engine oil at 6 to 7k kms. Never removed it's carburetor for overhaul, no starting trouble even on cold nights. Engine is such a perfect and master piece of engineering. Front tyre has done 35253 kms and is still on front wheel. Not a single bulb was fused during last 4 years and 9 months. Replaced rear tyre replaced once. I came to know that this model is discontinued by bajaj. This is the most economical ,and more powerful bike in comparison with its so many rivals in this segment.I love this bike !

It is single shocker bike me and two of my friends who had bought this bike (discover 150s), but the experience of this bike for us was totally useless, the bike's engine had opened on 35-40 thousand kilometers. Its 4-valve system is totally useless. In 4 years my bike engine was completely useless. Within a year, the bike started bothering. Many time when i was driving the bike suddenly used to stop and the kick or self start didn't work, it was very difficult to start, had to pushed to the mechanic. Never buy discover bike.

      Abhijit Bhattacharya

I wish to call this as a 'no problem' bike. It is in its best look as good as new. It has a smooth transition in terms of speed. Center shock absorbers similar to premium bikes. Excellent mileage of 53 kmpl compared to any other 150 cc bike. Pick up may not be at par with other power bikes. All servicing done at bajaj service centre in velachery. I am in love with the bike but moving out of tn jurisdiction therefore have to sell this bike. But ultimately a good buy for someone who wants all-in-one experience.

This bike was bought in 2014. Used single handedly. Very comfortable and smooth rides. Mostly used for commuting to office. Periodic servicing done always. Maintenance is approx. rupees 600 per 3000 km. Had longest ride of 450 km on this bike. Never felt that i am using bajaj bike, as built quality is better.

      Nice bike on road

      Bala S

Final words i am using this bike since 2 months and below are my comments.

Pros good look, flexible gears, good seating, rear tears are wider, pick up is good, economic price in the 150cc segment, easy availablity no waiting period.

Cons ground clearence is not good, as you frequently get hit at the bottom during humps, no engine guard, initial mileage is too low(around 35-40kmpl), vehicle washing is problematic as parts below fuel tank is jam packed.

Areas of improvement ground clearence and need for engine gurard.

      Pros

very comfortable, shifting of gears are easy, brakes are decent, lookwise if good

      cons

ground clearance not ok, initial milege not good, engine postion jam packed
