I bought the bike in 2010. Pretty easy to book the bike. The salesperson did all the paperwork. The bike is a kind of fusion of family and sports bikes. The mileage is the best part. I used to get around 45-50 initially, still after 10 years, it gave around 25-30km. It's a stylish bike with low-performance issues and low-cost maintenance. It's a hard and tough bike. It gives an amazing riding experience at the cost. The posture is well maintained. The problems I encountered with the bike are due to poor suspension, and high vibrations on a long ride.

  • Superb mileage and comfort in this segment.

I am the second owner of the pulsar 2006 model it has been retested and certified fit for the next 5 years, I have also bought a used cbr 250 r recently but since pulsar is my first bike I couldn't sell it and it is in superb condition, despite the fact the parts are not of brilliant quality bajaj service team is superb. I use shell 4t 10 w synthetic oil for the past three times and found the machine much refined.
I am getting an average mileage of 45 kmpl in a local run and maximum mileage of 72 kmpl which I got doing an economical ride while maintaining avg rpm and around 55 km/hr speed.
The main concern for this bike is I feel hard to sit on this after completing 40 kms in a single stretch.

  • Pulsar 150- should you consider it

    Amaresh Kumar Sinha

Firstly, the buying experience was very nice. Easily available and the showroom people were also very nice.
For daily use, this is a no brainer. Mileage is so-so good(around 40-45 in the city). Around 50 on highways. Also the bike is not that bulky so it can be handled easily
Look wise, pulsar is at par with any bike of this price range.
You don't need to spend much on service on maintenance.
    Pros-
    1. For daily use this is awesome.
    2. Mileage is pretty good
    3. Look wise awesome in this range
    4. Good pick up and also you can ride at low speeds in 3rd gear. So you don't need to shift gears every now and then
    Cons-
    1. If you ride continuously for 2-3 hours the engine gets too much heated. So you have to take a break in between. Nice if you ride for 150-200 km. But after that you will face issues, mainly heating problem
    2. Turning radius is not that good. So it is a problem
    3. There is a small hole in the silencer for water to come out. But sometimes this creates problem as you can feel that moisture and water when you start the bike

  • Old is gold. Pulsar dts si

I purchased my pulsar 150 cc dts si in 2006 Jan -1st. Now it has been a long experience for the past 15 years. Till now its giving 48 + mileage in 150 cc range, and for the past 15 years I have ridden nearly 2,70,000 km to 3 lakh km approximately. I think it should be more, with very low maintenance. Only once I changed the bore for this bike. After 10 years of usage and it cost around Rs 8000 in showroom only. After that I regularly service every 4 months once and change engine oil for every 1800 to 2000 kms. Old is gold still I will use this bike for another couple of years undoubtedly. I use it for long trips also which is around 300 km a day. Its quite good on performance. I suggest to concentrate on rear suspension as its not comfortable for above 350 km journey a day for 2 people.

  • My dream bike

My parents brought me bajaj pulsar 150 way back in 2005 when i was in college, at that time sporty bikes were not common as now. And pulsar was my dream bike then and now also. So it was a dream come true for me. I was not taking bike to college as i dint got my licence when i got my bike. But when i was very excited to ride it as soon as i got my licence few months after that. Riding experience has been amazing and is still. Absolutely love the sound it produces with the stock silencer. Its amazing even for long rides and is good to handle even if the road conditions are worse without complains.I love the design of it. Simple and appealing. Not too much of aggressive styling like we see in today's bikes. I have never modified my bike till date nor even painted it or even any sticker or taping work. Its still as on day one. Perforce is so good still that i have not replaced my pulsar still and not planning to replace in near future.I spent very less on its servicing as i used to go to college which was nearby and was working in nearby organisation so i rode it for less km. Maintenance cost was minimal with minimal maintenance required. But now it is little pricey to maintain as the spare parts are not available easily.Pros - simple design, better mileage that what bikes are giving now. Easy to maintain. Still running good. Still not replaced by any other bike.Cons- spare parts are not available now as it is old model.

Great combination of power, style, mileage, not so costly spares, value for money bike. Using this bike for 15 years, still running fine. Applying for re registration, once done good to go for another 5 years. Few repairs to be done. Petrol tank and silencer got rusted and need to be changed. Only issue i ever face is water seeping in through petrol tank lid, for which i use cover during rainy season.

    Sandip Kunkolienkar

  • Best for an Ordinary Guy

    Devathi Manmohan

I bought the bike in 2010. Pretty easy to book the bike. The salesperson did all the paperwork. The bike is a kind of fusion of family and sports bikes. The mileage is the best part. I used to get around 45-50 initially, still after 10 years, it gave around 25-30km. It's a stylish bike with low-performance issues and low-cost maintenance. It's a hard and tough bike. It gives an amazing riding experience at the cost. The posture is well maintained. The problems I encountered with the bike are due to poor suspension, and high vibrations on a long ride.
