The Bajaj Pulsar 150 is one of the highest selling 150cc commuter bikes in India. Despite it being long in the tooth, the combination of muscular style, good fuel efficiency and value for money makes it an extremely popular motorcycle in the two-wheeler market.
The styling might not have been updated for a long time, but the motorcycle has received new colour schemes and variants over the years. In order to add spice to the recipe, the company has introduced the Neon series wherein the motorcycle adorns a matte metallic grey colour scheme with contrasting neon orange or yellow highlights. However, the Neon model loses out on tank extensions and engine belly. Besides that, the motorcycle continues to feature a split seat design, sporty decals for the single and twin-disc models.
It uses a 149.5cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that is fuel-injected and BS6 compliant. It delivers 13.8bhp and 13.4Nm of torque and comes mated to a five-speed transmission. The Pulsar 150 is suspended by telescopic front forks up front and dual springs with adjustable preload at the rear. The braking setup consists of a disc brake at the front as standard and the choice of a drum or a disc brake at the rear. All variants of the Pulsar 150 feature a single-channel ABS system as standard fitment.
The motorcycle is offered in three colours – sparkle black red, sparkle black blue and sparkle black silver for both the variants.
In its segment, the Pulsar 150 competes against other executive 150cc commuter bikes like the Honda CB Unicorn 150 and the TVS Apache RTR 160.

Worst motorcycle, I bought thinking it's there for 15 years and Bajaj resolved all issue. But I am wrong.List of issues in bs6 150 single disc pulsar.1) Suspension, Bajaj carried 180 and 220 rear suspension to 150 but the swing arm of 150 needed heavy suspension which was their earlier. Due to this Motorcycle can't carry 2 people properly.2) Front suspension, bs6 front suspension is so soft it will make judder sound and front slips along with abs makes weird experience on small gravel or small stone roads. Definitely worst.3) Tappety engine. No matter how many service centers I visited, they couldn't solve the tappet sound issue. it's so irritating,. 4) Shady service centers. They blame you and can't resolve issue. And they will create new issue. 5) Sensor issue. The motorcycle stopped in the middle of the road. Throttle body error. 6) Worst thing is you have to maintain 5-litre petrol as a reserve.Otherwise, you will get a malfunctioning light. 7) Low-quality spare parts. This motorcycle is built of money. The quality of the motorcycle is so bad. Bs6 pulsars are failures.

The absolute G.O.A.T!!
Aditya Sharma
I first got the taste of the pulsar 150 back in the year 2014 when I got to lay hands on my uncle's 2007 model, after that the very same year we ourselves got a black colour pulsar 150 and have had it since then and very recently I had the opportunity to ride a 2023 single disc variant of the pulsar 150. Here are my thoughts on how the motorcycle is overall, it's pro's and cons after more than a decade of ownership.First up the bike itself is the G.O.A.T of the segment being the one who started the sports bike for masses trend in India and there are no two ways about it.THE PROS!!1. The engine = The 2014 model that I own produces 14bhp which is 0.2 bhp more than the outgoing model(13.8bhp) which makes the bike feel a little bit more agile when opening up the revs. The engine is the sole reason why the 150 is able to sell in numbers even today because the sporty characteristics of it is unrivalled and encourages the rider to rev it hard in order to extract every last bit of performance and fun.2. The design = The iconic pulsar design with twin tail lamps and twin parking lights at the front are just irreplaceable and even the overall silhouette of the bike remains true to the original one to this date which I feel is another factor contributing to it's good sales numbers. No matter what automotive journalists have to say but people still want to be seen on a pulsar that look the original one.Now to the CONS!!1. Parts quality / Fit and finsih = The harsh truth about owning a pulsar is that the quality of some of the parts is not that great and fit and finish is also questionable. In my ownership experience I have faced difficulties in maintaining few of then such as the head unit, the tank extensions and the side panels. All these plastic units tend to break very easily and are very expensive to replace.2. Fuel economy = When you're buying a 150cc bike you are going to expect a fuel economy of somewhere between 50-55 kmpl but that is not the case with the pulsar. Yes it does return these kind of numbers if ridden in a very certain manner but as soon as you start opening the throttle, holding the revs and ride to enjoy and ride how it should be ridden the fuel economy drops significantly and you will not go past the 45kmpl mark. 3. The weight = The bike weighs in at 148kgs which is just too much for a 150cc bike, when you compare this with the pulsar's main rival, the Apache rtr 160 it weighs a whole 10kgs less at just 138kgs. This I feel is something that Baja should work on to make the 150 a bit lighter.Final thoughts are that if you want a bike that has good power on offer, has the history behind it and does not want to spend more than 1.5lakhs on it, there are very few bikes that will appeal asmich as the Pulsar 150 does but as soon as you take your budget beyond 1.5 lakhs enters the Apache RTR 160 which is lighter by 10kgs and produces 2.2bhp more than the pulsar, the hero Xtreme 160r that again weighs almost 10kgs less and produces 1bhp extra or even the N150 is a much better product than the pulsar 150 is.Thus, those you are not willing to spend a penny extra should go for the 150 as there is no better option than it but as soon as you extend your budget the choices become much more varied and better.

Bajaj Pulsar 150

Bought Pulsar 150 neon in March 2019. The initial experience was good but the condition deteriorated after that. I normally use the bike for daily commuting and generally keep rpm below 6k. The engine is very unrefined and gives vibration at and after 4k rpm. The rear tyre looks tilted from its angle and the Bajaj servicemen say that it can't be corrected. The rear suspension is very stiff.

Worst motorcycle don't go for it. Service centre couldn't fix wobbling issue and charges 15000rs, engine make lot noise after 10km ride. This motorcycle is good only till 1 year or 10000km then even god can't save you. Service centre don't have any knowledge and they will make you suffer. Service charges are like car service charges.

Never buy Bajaj
Prince Mehta
1. The buying experience is good because no waiting period. Same day delivery 2. It feels good in a riding experience 3. Looks amazing 4. Servicing is worst because zero knowledge of technicians working in bajaj. When you go service centre. Your bike became a horror and every time they change the engine oil whether its 7 days of last service or 1 month. And every time they say clutch plate problem. Please change and maintenance charge is approx 3000-8000 single service charge. In my opinion please boycott Bajaj.5. Pros and cons :-Pros:- it good for daily usage Comfortable seatCons:-The whole bike is a cons because after purchasing Pulsar you will regret it. In the Tank and seat only things working fine. Other things like the engine, clutch plate, Minor kit, major kit, ABS , and front alloy wheel is too weak. Never buy Bajaj Pulsar.
