Vishnuprasad

I am getting a mileage around 61-63km/l even i am shocked with result. But as per service centre it have all sort of 10 years wear and tear though i maintains well usually than normal i used to get the mileage but this is the first time i recognised my bike's huge mileage.

Don't know whether it's a special about mine or usual. ;)

Mileage is crap. Just 37kmpl

I purchased this after owning yamaha fz 16 for more than 4 years. Now I've done about 7000kms.

First and foremost the mileage sucks. I check my mileage after every refill and i constantly get 36-38kmpl. No matter how smooth i drive without reving it hard i get only a max of 38kmpl. I expected at-least something more than 40 but this is all i get.

My fz16 used to give me 40-42kmpl. But apart from the mileage the rest is fine.

One thing worth appreciating is the brakes, my fz would usually skid on sudden braking but pulsar holds its position and avoids skidding. Also the hard suspension setup is an advantage for our bumpy roads.

A combo of power style and mileage

Awesome bike both for a college student or a office man . If you want looks, power , style and mileage in single bike do go for 180. Comes with a short handle which gives a prefect sports bikes feel even in rush areas. Pick up is amazing best in class compare to other bikes of same cc, if you have good driving hands you can surly compete with pulsar 200 ,fz, apache ( not ns) . Looks are eye catching , sound of bike is very sexy and never changes not even if you run continuously on 100+ for more than 30 min .

Bike if maintained can last for more 10-15 years in same condition.

Pros -

Spare parts are easy available and are cheap so service cost very much less as compare to other bikes of same category.

Handling , it best in class

Millage ( equals to some of 150cc bikes)

Good resale value .

Controlling is very easy

Cons

Head light

Kick is not available, although comes with three spark plugs.

Tips for other riders

Make a habit to visit the service centre at least once in three months. And have basics services like oil change, air filter change, greasing and oiling of chains brakes etc and use original spare parts always

Power with mileage

Firstly i wanted to buy a pulsar as it was a bike i loved from the very beginning. At that time i didn't know the difference between the 150 and the 180 as both looked approximately same from appearance. But when i finally came to know about it , i knew that this is the bike that i am going to ask for..

I have done some around 5000 kms since i have bought it. The performance in the beginning was ok but with time the problems began to arise..

For riding, no doubt it is one of the best bikes in the market but quality and refinement is something bajaj has to take care of.

Looks: i don't think i need to write about its looks. The pulsar 180 is one the best looking bikes in the a lot at-least better then other 180s in the segment.

It also gives u a distinct look when you ride a pulsar. May be that is why they call it "distinctly ahead".

Performance : it is a bike that is solid, way too capable and the pick is really good.

Servicing : servicing is really poor. Whenever you put your bike to service you feel like some of the part is not working well after that.

Maintenance : it is not that costly.

You just need to take care of the chain.

Pros : if you are looking for a performance bike with mileage and a bike on which the rider looks good then this is the bike you are looking for.

Cons : build quality, refinement, durability.
