Feeling worst experience after buying this bike. I can say that this is the worst product and worst service I have seen

      Prashanth

I have bought a bike of pulsar 220 with bs6 engine 7 months ago. From the starting day, I am facing break sounds and engine sounds even. On that I am visiting to service center, still the problem was not resolved. I am feeling the worst experience of this bike. Such a worst service giving in the bajaj showrooms. I am not even satisfied with this shit. When I ask them to replace the part, they were asking money for replacement. Is this the kind of service they provide.

A long time touring friend.Thank you

      Lokesh Kumar

This review is of 10 years continuous usage of pulsar 220 dtsi from November 2010 till date. Yeah its still being used, at least for a few months more. Engine: I loved the engine response for first 5 years until by my mistake got engine siege. After that it never was like before as the Bajaj service center just ruined everything in 2nd stage. I have personally achieved 140 km/h numerous time during my Bangalore to Goa trip, Bangalore to Chennai & Pondi. The engine was rev happy and ample of power throughout. Motul oil tends to damage its rubber gasket. Engine does not get heated easily during long very long trips if you know the trick of stop and go every 75 km chai-Sutta break. Engine never gave any trouble, at that time period it was way refined and rev happy. Dynamo fault led to replacement which was not charging the battery.
Quality: Yeah, this is one area where I had troubles since the start. The famous visor vibration, useless rear view mirror, weak panel connector where screws are placed is weak throughout bike, it breaks easily even tail lamp broke internally until I drilled a screw to keep it in place. Many thing breaking down will be normal wear and tear during all these years and untimely replacement of parts affecting other parts.
Mileage:40 to 45 kmpl till first 5 years on highway until engine got busted, 35 to 40 kmpl in city. Currently it is giving 30 kmpl.
Looks: It still looks nice. It is a looker, it screams performance. The evergreen style so long & still running and good in every angle.
Riding experience: My entire college life and few job years went on riding this bike. I have covered nearly every part of southern India on tour. Weekend rides on nandi, short rides on Shivasamundram, long ones like pondi and very long like Goa and cochin. I love this bike as a companion, never let me down on highways or anything. This bike is a true blue highway cruiser. Seat were just fine, suspension all okay, good front wheel feel and response, highway stability too good when trucks lorries cross by, good wind blast protection too. Front brakes were just fine but rear wheel response was not good, it was like wood. Its not city street friendly I would say because of its frame, not a corner carver, or maintain a line in turns. For me with decade of experience would respect, its limit and calm down to let those ktm's pass. Servicing and maintenance: It cheap to maintain and always has been to me as I still keep it in utmost mint condition. Bajaj service center was never good to me so I had a long known mechanic to go to every time. When my engine seized, I took the bike to bajaj service center and they made huge bill with components not required in engine rebuild, had big quarrel though and brought the bill from 13k to 8k. Since never gone back to bajaj service center. Why I am letting it go now? It is a machine and replacing the parts, it's good again. It is supreme court ban on registration of bike transfer from another state into delhi-NCR passed during lockdown and my noc paperwork got useless and expired. Now, high security number plate thingy, ladakh never happened. I have to scrap it as I would not courier it back to bangalore, re-register it and sell !! a proper burial. Goodbye Ka-04 h-**** aka bajaj pulsar 220 dtsi

      An affordable and practical sports-bike!

The bajaj pulsar 220 dtsi - at one time the fastest Indian bike. Disc brakes in the front and rear, tubeless tyres, projector headlamps and fantastic styling made this bike stand apart. I have used it for occasional commutes as well as occasional long rides. Have enjoyed every ride. This is one bike which is as comfortable in the city as it is on highways. Whether you are going through traffic on a busy city road or cruising along on a highway at 90-100 kmph, the bike feels comfortable and confident. The bike has been well maintained and serviced regularly. Has been mostly single driven and definitely looks much younger than it's age.

8.5 yr of ownership review in terms of performance style handling and comfort

It was a great experience when the time i bought this bike, it was providing the best performance in the entire segment. I have driven more than 67000 km since 2011. When i bought it, in the starting it was giving me 42-43 km/l on highway and in the city 38-40 km/l but now i'm getting 31-33 on the highway and in the city 28-30 km/l. The riding posture is good there are no issues and body pain in long travel. Pickup is good and i drove it on the top speed of 143 km/h till the date. Replacement parts are not so costly and service and maintenance cost is not so high as compared to other bikes in the segment.Pros: maintenance will not be so high if service is done by time. I personally love the riding posture. Even without abs my bike never got slipped from the road, even it is raining. I love the sidelights of any pulsar because it is never get damaged easily as it is flexible.Cons: chainset is the problem i replaced it 3 times. And the chain becomes loose in a few days. After long years of buying, maintenance is like every month, it can be small or average.

New bajaj with fuel injection abs and 6th gear

      Alpesh Patel

Buying experience was awesome, riding is fairly ok as compared to other bikes like ktm 200, yamaha 250, honda 250 although the cc is less for pulsar 220 still i give a tough fight for speedy run the only concern is the gear shift the false shifts while racing if bajaj takes care for that it would be awesome. I pray if bajaj can give fuel injection, abs get 6th gear the cursing with be more comfortable on triple digits

Buying- any how all are you paying approx 80k+ for 150cc(sports bike) little more 15k+ extra spending worth it. Riding=awesome mixed touring+racing, looks =beats rc390 (2.89lac on-road) then what else u need, performance wise (except ktm bikes) rest all u can beat, highway and city riding is suited depending on your riding skills, servicing and maintenance=1st,2nd,3rd free approx mately 1500, 1st paid approx (3 to 4k) and 2nd paid service approx 3k, (needs chain extra care for every 1500 km), pros=affordable power bike 200>cc, acceleration is good, mileage 40 at 50/km speed, less maintenance (no rash riding), high beam headlights, styling, cons=engine roaring, headlight doom vibration low riding height, too weight, cornering (be careful karizma is better in cornering) rear brake (no abs), spares costly, rain/wash water entering into petrol tank. Over all who wants power+commuter pulsar 220f best suited.
