A motorcycle, not a bike.

I am a proud owner of the bajaj v12 motorcycle!
well; as we all know that the bajaj v series came with the motto of giving the great indian warship 'ins vikrant' a new life! i was most excited about the unique concept and the bike did not disappoint me any department when i took it for a test ride. You will notice one peculiar thing in my review, that i am calling this machine a 'motorcycle' and not a bike. It just does justice to the machine.
Buying experience:
i bought it from bajaj dealership in andheri, mumbai this year in march. The dealers were kind enough to give me a very fast delivery and believe it or not i set a trend by actually paying the entire cost of this motorcycle via digital mobile app! the final all inclusive cost of my unit came to inr 59000/- only.
I chose the classic black with red stripes. This is by the way my very first motorcycle, hence i was not aware of the paper work or the documentation process but the dealership truly made this one a smooth experience for sure.
Riding experience:
the v12 rides with precise control, has great road grip and balance. The 125cc engine is adequately powered, neither too much power (as that was my mother's major concern for safety of my ride), nor too less of power that my friends would make fun of me!
looks/styling & performance:
i primarily use this motorcycle for my daily commute on the streets of mumbai which are a mix of smooth highways, small lanes, streets with pot holes of all shapes and sizes & those occasional water / oil spills on the road surface. Hence i can say with confidence that the v12 takes all these types of surfaces in its stride with equal ease.
The motorcycle definitely is a head turner! the macho looks and the unique styling makes it stand out in the crowd and a second look is guaranteed for sure! the paint job is fabulous, the iconic v logo is my most favourite and i have to mention the exhaust, it looks and sounds mean! the v12 has 5 gears & all are on the upper side. (Just the new rider in me is talking)
me being an average middle class maharashtrian boy, one thing that matters a lot to me is the running cost of the machine, and the v12 is impressive here as well. I almost consistently get 52 km for every litre of fuel! the tank can hold 13 litres and that can easily give me more than 600 kms on a full tank, making those dream cross country rides that i had in mind a reality!
speaking of the long rides, the seat on the v12 is ergonomic and very comfortable. Am a average built, 5.7 Ft tall guy and i get a very good seating posture on the v12.
Servicing and maintenance:
bajaj being one of the most popular brands of our country, getting quick road side service from a mechanic & fixing minor issues is not a problem at all! i got this experience recently while i was riding in thane when i accidentally dropped my v12 while putting it on the stand, it suffered a few nicks but the local mechanic fixed them in a few minutes (i broke the mirror). The repair was light on the pocket as well! i rode the v12 at 110 kmph on the thane highway and it was a sheer joyful experience. (The top speed is 140 kmph)
i love to take care of my machine and would service it regularly, however the v12 is a tough guy and doesn't need much pampering. Just the regular, washes, oil changes, filter cleaning and that should be good!
i have now ridden the v12 for 4 months now & i can list more pros, than cons!
pros:
great styling. (Of course!)
sturdy built.
Great confidence & control while riding.
Good balanced shocker (front wheel) & suspension (rear wheel)
economical. (Purchase price as well as running cost)
pride of owning a piece of history.
Indian machine.
Cons:
no disk brake (does not matter that much actually)
head light always on feature is missing. (I wish this was there)

This bike has a very strong vibration at moderate to high rpm at every gear. At just after 35 kmph, the vibration can be felt. There is no pick up at all. Any overtaking is not possible. No trip meter. No tachometer. I have visited almost all bajaj service centres of guwahati. But getting no help. I have talked to other v12 owners also. Some even complaints frequent engine shut down. But i have not experienced engine stop problem till now.

My bajaj v12 experience
Vishal Bhushan
I would start the review from my bike delivery experience....
the experience was good but the sales man was not that much interested in selling his bike ..Though the bike is high in demand these days ....
The bike feel really good in riding ....
However the sales man told me his own review that the bike keeps getting jerks while riding .... I also felt the same from the very first day.... Yes it takes jerks when you low down the throttle on speed breakers sometimes.... The bike is amazingly heavy in weight... However you will not feel this weight while riding on high speed... On high speed it is damn smooth ...However when you slow down the throttle after reaching 80+ ..You will feel the sound of the silencer really meaty and beefy type ... On 40 to 50 kmpl ...Sometime bike vibrates too much .... But when i take it more than 50kmpl it feels smooth again .... The breaking system is good enough but the drum breaks of the front tyre are not much good .... You may feel heaviness while breaking and using the front breaks... About the mileage ...I am using the bike since 1 month ...And i am getting around 52 to 55 kmpl ...Riding in both highway and city conditions ...Only on highway until the first service you will get more than 55kmpl.... When i ride the bike on high way on more than 70kmpl ... I feel the bike really stable and unlike the other bikes like shine, passion and glamour you feel more comfortable on high speeds as well comparing to other bikes.. About the pillion comfort... The pillion feels more comfortable then rider with the use the new back rest..Yes i got the back rest in the bike..??... I am 20 years old ...Bought the bike with my own money and i feel really proud to have this bike with me ..I commute daily 25 to 30 kms. . One more thing that you may feel regret some first days after getting the bike ...That you should have purchased any other bike like pulsar 135 ls , shine or glamour ..But believe me ..Those bike are not this much durable not even then have better riding experience than this ...Also you will feel those bikes in riding that you are riding 125cc but if you trust me ...The bajaj v12 is not a bike that feels like 125cc capacity ...When you ride it ...You feel like you are riding a mini avenger or bullet sometimes ....But even on the 5th gear you would feel that there is the need of 6th gear as the bike makes to much sound from the silencer on high speed... However the engine feels smooth on high speed..... So. Finally if you like to ride bike roughly then this bike is not made for you ...Better you go with 135ls or honda shine as their pick up is much better than this bike ... I purchased the bike for rs67000 gave 27000 as down and 4300 per month is my emi ... For 12 months ... And i am happy with the bike never feel regret .... Today i am going to get the bike serviced as its has run more than 600kms and its been 39 days when i purchased the bike ...Have a great day ahead ..Bye

I got attracted with its looks which is totally different than other 125cc bikes in the market. So, i bought it. Its beautiful, muscular and unique. Definitely, it has eye catching looks. And then there is ins vikrant legacy. I must say bajaj made a fool of the people in the name of vikrant. I am going to divide my review in two parts - positives and negatives. First, positive aspects of the bike : 1. Riding position is very comfortable. 2. Suspension for rider is good for small bumps, normal bad roads. 3. Wider tyre gives good stability on the roads. 4. Unique design, eye catching. 5. Also bassy sound gives a different identity to this bike. Now, negative aspects of the bike: 1. Poor, horrible and pathetic torque, just pathetic, you can not overtake in dense traffic conditions, poorer than other 125cc or 110cc bikes. 2. So much vibration, whether its in low rpm or high rpm, lot of vibration, after 60 kmph, it vibrates like hell, forget riding with pillion. 3. Poor drum brakes, front suspension is poor, even rear suspension is not good at all and no tubeless tyres. 4. Forget riding with pillion, worst pillion seat. Super uncomfortable, narrow and pillion tends to slide down while sitting, pillion have to feel each and every little bump on the road while sitting. Its horrible seat. 5. Poor mileage, 40-45 kmph. 6. Rear suspension makes you feel that air pressure tyre is low, sometimes you feel rear tyre is skidding but not, its just pathetic arrangement of parts in this bike. 7. Poor headlight, poor brake pads and engine oil works for 1500-1800 km only, after then you feel performance declines. Final verdict, don't buy this bike.

It has a good commuter bike. For daily up-down. Best performance on riding. Like a bullet bike. That's is pros & my buying experience was awesome because. When i go for purchasing in different bike showrooms all bike are in basic look nothing special but finally i choose very different bike v12. When we talk about bike maintenance & services. My four services free from bajaj. & after that very low maintenance cost.
But v12 does not get tubeless tyre! that is con.

My 1st bike bajaj v12. Having great experience. The price of this bike is similar to the other 125cc commuters. But this bike give you the premium look. The riding quality and riding position of this bike is best. While riding this bike i feel like, i am the king of road. At low price you have great experience. The looks of this bike is awesome. Easily catches the eyes of public. The butterfly shape headlight, muscular tank, tail-lamp and stylish backrest make this bike look wonderful. Till now i have not face any issue regarding service of this bike. This bike maintenance is bit high. As the parts of this bike is not easily available in the local market. Cons - bajaj should have given tubeless grip tyre, engine vibration issue and gear shift should be smoother. Else everything is great.

My bajaj v12 experience

I have been riding this bike for more than two years. Before buying, please consider my review, it will be helpful for you all. i have completed 22000 plus kms in this bike.

Something special v12

Hariom
It has a good commuter bike. For daily up-down. Best performance on riding. Like a bullet bike. That's is pros & my buying experience was awesome because. When i go for purchasing in different bike showrooms all bike are in basic look nothing special but finally i choose very different bike v12. When we talk about bike maintenance & services. My four services free from bajaj. & after that very low maintenance cost.
But v12 does not get tubeless tyre! that is con.

Something special v12

It has a good commuter bike. For daily up-down. Best performance on riding. Like a bullet bike. That's is pros & my buying experience was awesome because. When i go for purchasing in different bike showrooms all bike are in basic look nothing special but finally i choose very different bike v12. When we talk about bike maintenance & services. My four services free from bajaj. & after that very low maintenance cost.
But v12 does not get tubeless tyre! that is con.

I just love the bike... I used mostly for touring... I rode it above 15500km .... it's good when we at 70kmph but little bit vibration... no trouble in engine .. only pillion seat is not comfortable. and need to change handle bar it's low.. mileage 55kmpl...I made little modifications added fog lights and led bulb and also need to change handle bar.

Bike feels very comfortable and relax.Great bike for small and medium height people.Using bike since 1 and half year no problems till now.Average is good 55kmpl in city and 60kmpl on highways.Prefer speed petrol for better performance and average.Pickup is very nice and feels a powerful biking experience in 125 cc segment.
