Benelli TRK 502X Summary

Price: Benelli TRK 502X price for its variant - TRK 502X Standard starts at Rs. 6,50,000. The mentioned TRK 502X price is the average ex-showroom.

Benelli TRK 502X is a adventure bike available in only 1 variant and 4 colours. The Benelli TRK 502X is powered by 500cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 46.9 bhp and a torque of 46 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Benelli TRK 502X comes up with anti-locking braking system. This TRK 502X bike weighs 235 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 20 liters.

Benelli India has introduced the off-road biased TRK 502 X in the country to rival the likes of Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT and the Honda CB500X.

The BS6 variant of the middleweight adventure retains the styling cues from its predecessor. Thus, the motorcycle features a twin-pod headlight with LED DRLs, a beak-style design, a semi-fairing, knuckle guards with aluminium brackets, a tall-windscreen, and a split-seat setup. The TRK 502 X variant, similar to the road-biased TRK 502 BS6, gets an updated instrument cluster that features a revised layout. The updated model also benefits from backlit switchgear, adjustable handlebar, and redesigned mirrors.

The TRK 502 X will be available in three colours – Metallic Dark Grey, Pure White, and Benelli Red. The latter two carry a price premium of Rs 10,000 over the Metallic Dark Grey. The motorcycle comes with a three-year/unlimited kilometres warranty as standard.

The motorcycle is powered by a 500cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 46.8bhp of maximum power at 8,500rpm and 46Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox.

The underpinnings remain similar to the BS4 version. Thus, the TRK 502 X BS6 continues to use a steel trellis frame. The suspension setup includes upside-down front forks and a rebound and preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. The anchoring duties are handled by twin, 320mm discs at the front and a single 260mm rotor at the back while the safety net includes dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. The road-biased TRK 502, for reference, uses 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends.

Benelli TRK 502X Review

  • Good Things

    • Gets spoke wheels
    • Rides very well off-road
    • Great road presence
  • Could be Better

    • Performance is mediocre
    • Quite heavy
    • Limited service reach

BikeWale's Take

The TRK 502 is a middle-weight adventure bike. It sports some modern features and does very well in off-road conditions. However, due to its high weight and mediocre performance, the TRK 502X doesn't feel very enticing.

      1. Buying Experience is good, Responsive & polite staff
      2. Big bike feel & Seek attention.
      3. Overall the front look is damn cool, Although the back tail look is average.
      4. Service costs vary from around 8K TO 10.5K. Depending upon the air filter, oil filter changes.
      5. Pros:- Seek road attention, Power delivery is High, comfortable Cushing, Fit & Finish is precise.
Cons:- Bike weight is damn high, a person with strength can only manoeuvre with skill set also required, the Service centre is only available in tier 1 cities. Parts are Expensive. ex:- turn indicator only cost around 2100/-

      Digvijay Singh

The Benelli 502X is a relatively affordable adventure bike, so the buying experience is generally positive. The bike is available at most Benelli dealerships, and the staff is usually knowledgeable and helpful. The bike is also backed by a 2-year warranty & RSA, which gives you peace of mind.
Benelli 502X is a comfortable and capable adventure bike. The engine is a 500cc parallel twin that is smooth and powerful. The bike has a long-travel suspension that soaks up bumps and ruts, and the tires provide good grip on both tarmac and dirt. The riding position is upright and comfortable, making it easy to ride for long distances.
It has a rugged and stylish design that is sure to turn heads. The bike is equipped with a number of features that are designed for adventure riding, such as a large fuel tank, a tall windscreen, and handguards.
Benelli 502X is a relatively easy bike to service and maintain. The service intervals are every 6,000 kilometers, and the parts are readily available. The bike is also fuel-efficient, so you won't have to spend a lot of money on fuel.
      Pros:
      Affordable
      Comfortable
      Powerful engine
      Long-travel suspension
      Good looks
      Lots of features

I would like to emphasize that your safety is more important than bike maintenance. Since your bike is a heavy one, which I call "Dragon Ride", please use good quality safety guards and protectors for your safety. Make sure to install the essential and basic bike safety guards.

Jus owned it. Initial impressions are good. Nothing to complain about. The riding experience is good. When you try to move the bike around is when the weight comes to play. Feels heavy. When the bike starts moving you would not feel the weight. Seats are comfortable. Could have given a TFT display and distance to empty.

      Vasanth Bv

1, i purchased at nandam benelli store it was a good experience and luckily trk 502 and 502x were available for a test ride.
2, the first time when I saw the bike it looks like a beast I got afraid to do a test ride, but after riding it was so confident.
3, worth of money, eye-catching look and performance I'll rate 8 out of 10.
4, compared to other superbikes it's cheaper.
5, pros - riding comfort is excellent, the braking system is fabulous. Cons - for short riders it's difficult to handle on off-roads ( trk 502x ), top speed can be better.

      Sushil S Suryawanshi

The price hiked twice since I booked but I stuck to my decision to buy it since no bike in this range offers what it does.
Bike is heavy and short riders should not prefer it as its height is also more being an off roading bike. The road presence is stunning, its easier to count who did not turn back than people who turned their heads. I was stopped or slowed down many times just to ask about the bike. 500 cc is more than enough for indian roads since you need to be steel hearted to go beyond 150 km/h. It easily attains 150 km/h and can go beyond. All the extra power with other more cc bikes is useless.
Except at zooming out on traffic signals. Servicing is rs 6-8k every 6 months after 1st service and all are paid. Bike is heavy until it starts running. Once running, it is absolutely weight less. I have done off roading, not serious though but steeps and gravels and hilly parts. You have very good power and braking on off roads. On street too the braking is good. Pros are its power, looks and cost. Cons, it will surprise you with its weight but an adventure bike is bound to be heavy since its twin cylinder and is very well planted on highways on high speeds.
Absolute satisfaction. I had been looking for a bike which can handle indian roads, which can help me commute longs distances to my office daily and has best available features of dual abs, disc brakes power to swish on empty roads...It has all i needed and affordable. The mileage is good too since its 500 cc, about 25 km/l. I used my car for daily commute to office which gave me 14kmpl. So this is anytime better for daily commutes. Absolute no for city rides since you have to be in low gears always in traffic, it will eat up all the fuel in short distance and causes fatigue due to constant braking, gear shifting and additionally handling its 240kg weight. Since my office route is a highway, i opted it. I wish it had traction control, but that would be too much to ask for, at this price point. Servicing it in time is really important and buy it with a mindset of spending 6-8k on its timely services. It should not surprise anyone with the service cost. Its a good machine. It does have vibrations but it is same for all bikes.

Servicing it in time is a must. Oil change is part of every servicing. Pay attention to coolant of the radiator. It will avoid overheating of the engine and may lead to no claim on warranty. Lubing the chain is must after every 200-300 kms. Since dust and debris accumulates on the chain and cause noise from the chain. I use motul chain cleaner and lube. Used Royal enfield chain lube also once. Its less costly. will try using Putoline. Yet to decide which one is best.
