The 2022 BMW F 900 XR Pro sports adventure tourer has been launched in the Indian market to rival the likes of the Triumph Tiger 900 GT and the Ducati Multistrada V2.
The latest iteration of the F 900 XR retains the BS6-compliant, 895cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder motor that delivers 103.2bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 92Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The company claims a 0-100kmph acceleration timing of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of over 200kmph.
The styling cues, too, remain identical to the previous version. Thus, the 2022 BMW F 900 XR continues to draw styling cues from the S 1000 XR. This road-biased sports adventure tourer features a twin-pod headlight, adjustable windscreen, adjustable brake and clutch levers, semi-fairing, engine cowl, step-up seat, and side-slung exhaust. BMW F 900 XR is available in a single Pro variant. And this version is available in a single paint option – Sport Style (Racing Red).
The feature list retains full-LED lighting, Bluetooth-enabled 6.5-inch full-colour TFT screen, 12-volt socket, ABS, traction control, riding modes pro, keyless ride, engine brake control, adaptive cornering lights, and heated grips. Further, the optional packs add more features to the motorcycle. The Dynamic package brings Headlight Pro, Daytime Riding Lights, and Gear Shift Assist Pro. Whereas the Active package includes Riding Modes Pro, Dynamic Engine Brake Control (MSR), Heated Grips, Dynamic Traction Control, ABS Pro, and case holders.
The hardware comprises upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock to handle the suspension tasks. The braking duties are handled by twin disc brakes at the front and a single rotor at the back. Further, the 17-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tubeless tyres.

My dream comes true!

As a short rider standing at 5’4”, owning a sport-touring bike or a superbike has always been a dream for me. Unfortunately, most superbikes aren’t suited to my height, particularly for city rides where having my feet firmly on the ground is crucial for comfort and safety. The BMW F 900 XR has been a game-changer for me, offering an option to lower the seat while maintaining the same level of comfort and performance. This bike is truly awesome. The showroom and workshop are conveniently located close to my home, making service and maintenance hassle-free. The representatives at BMW have been fantastic—extremely supportive and knowledgeable, ensuring a smooth buying process and excellent after-sales service. At 58 years old, with significant family commitments and a busy schedule, I haven’t yet had the chance to embark on long rides. However, I frequently take short rides and can confidently say that this bike has provided an exceptional experience. The ride quality is superb, and the look of the bike is striking. I am very pleased with its aesthetics and performance. One point to note is that the maintenance cost is a bit higher compared to regular bikes, but given the quality and performance, it is worth every penny. The only drawback for me is the weight of the bike. It’s something to consider, especially if you’re used to lighter bikes. However, given its category, the BMW F 900 XR strikes a good balance as a mid-weight bike, and all other factors are definite advantages. In conclusion, the BMW F 900 XR has met and exceeded my expectations, making my riding experience enjoyable and fulfilling. I highly recommend it to fellow riders who are looking for a blend of sportiness, comfort, and style.

1. Buying experienceIt was a smooth process and I got the delivery in good time, navnit motors mumbai always kept me in the loop and informed.2. Riding experienceThe reason why chose to go ahead with this bike was for my height I could flat foot the bike easily and the weight is very manageable unlike the bike in its category. 120 front and 180 rear are really confidence-inspiring on the higher speeds. The suspension is good and you cannot feel most of the bumps and jerks on the road. The rear suspension is auto adjustable to one's needs and customizable up to 6 preset standards. It was a great package to get the pro version at a good price with 4 riding modes, a quick shifter, auto blipper, and automatic suspension. The ride quality is good and the bike is very nimble and can be used for day-to-day commute.3. Looks and performanceLooks are very subjective but I love the overall look and I just wish if bmw could have worked a little more on decals rather than keeping the bike in a single tone, well this can be fixed though. Performance-wise the bike is great and mostly you can easily cruise at speeds upto 120-140kmph all day long. It has cruise control as well which makes long rides a bit easy for your hands and shoulders. Bmw connects app lets you review your ride details as well.4. ServicingI would say the price is justified and it might just be a little higher than other brands. But there is no compromise on the level of dedication and service satisfaction from the navnits technicians.5 pros and consProsMile muncherDaily commuteVery nimbleConsPower could be a little more but happy with the top speed going upto 200 easily.
