BMW Bikes

BMW bike price starts from Rs. 2,90,000. BMW offers 24 new models in India with most popular bikes being G310 RR, G 310 R and G 310 GS. The upcoming bikes of BMW include F 450 GS, R nineT Racer and R 1300 GS Adventure. Most expensive BMW bike is M 1000 RR, which is priced at Rs. 49,00,000.

BMW started off as an aircraft manufacturer in the early 20th century. Post World War I, BMW was prohibited from manufacturing aircraft engines, so it set its sights on the automotive world. The first BMW motorcycle rolled off the production line in 1923. Christened ‘R32’, this model became the base for future BMW models for a long time. BMW has been associated with a number of innovations in the automotive world. Technologies like telescopic forks, hydraulic damping and straight-travel rear-wheel suspension were first used by BMW. Over the years, BMW has also been actively involved in various disciplines of motorsports including superbike racing, road racing and endurance rallies. BMW’s current range consists of a wide variety of motorcycles, stretching from superbikes to naked roadsters, from adventure touring motorcycles to modern classics. BMW even has ‘urban mobility vehicles’ in the form of scooters, though these aren’t sold in India at this point of time. BMW plans to increase its global sales figures by a significant number, and the 310cc motorcycles that have been developed with TVS will play a big role. However, BMW currently sells only large-displacement motorcycles from its portfolio. The G 310 R and G 310 GS will be launched in the near future, however, but they won’t be accessible as such, with their premium pricing.

This bike is very good and very impressive look, I had this bike a few months ago and this bike very comfortable more than I expected nice breaking system and nice looks it's a beast bike. I suggested to everyone people who have money, yeah this bike has enough power for a single rider. This bike is below for money.

    65000 KMs and counting

I have been a long-time owner of this well-engineered bike, with more than 65K KMS on the odometer and 6 Years + on the RC book. Pros: 1. Great suspension and ergonomics make this bike very comfortable for long rides as well. 2. Good efficiency of about 25-30KMPL for this segment. 3. Built is strong and so is the paint quality, fit, and finish. 4. Agile and responsive to rider's input; anyone can get the hang of this bike in no time. Cons: 1. Not the most powerful in the segment. 2. Engine noise seems abnormal but BMW says that's how it is supposed to be. The exhaust note is not sporty at lower-mid RPM. 3. Slightly expensive to maintain and needs a lot of care although service intervals are 10K. I have already replaced Rear Suspension ASSY once, the front fork oil seals twice, the clutch plates once, the Gear position sensor once, the Gear shaft with return spring once, the Clutch and Throttle cable thrice, the Left and right handle switchgear once, Front ABS sensor once, Battery 4 times, Timing chain once, rear hub rubber twice. Apart from these, consumables such as chains were replaced thrice, Tyres- replaced twice, and brake pads- were replaced thrice apart from routine 10K service at the dealership. 4. Few service stations across the nation if you want to have long rides. Overall the bike is good only if you can maintain it well like any machine and not just get it for the brand.

    Specially adventures

Yesterday I completed 50,000 kms on my BMW G 310 GS, hence the thought to share a small write-up followed by photos of our bonding over the last few years. This is not a typical review but captures the essence of time spend together with the bike and memories created. Mine is the first lot bike from 2022. The purchase story goes like this. I bought a Versys 650 in 2019 with the intent of touring. In late 2019, I suffered a heart attack which turned my life upside down. Lucky to survive and post some months of rehabilitation and recovery, slowly tried getting back to biking. Versys felt too big a bike for my condition and long tours were out of bounds. I was looking for a smaller, lighter & comfortable ADV bike and there were not much in terms of choices available. I had tested Himalayan and did not like the engine. 390 Adv was under the longest of speculations. Xpulse felt too puny downgrading from the Versys 650. I had the first gen Duke390 at that time which kept me going for a year or so. That was when the 310GS was launched and it fitted my requirements well. I was sold on the looks of the bike and a small test ride convinced me to book one. I knew the price was on the higher side, but desperate I was for a small ADV bike so went ahead anyway. The bike was delivered sometime in August of 2022 with a big fanfare. Kolkata BMW dealer was delivering some 40 odd bikes together with festive galore and celebrations including snacks, cake cutting, AV show, talks by BMW reps, and the usual hype. As customers, we did feel special at that moment only to realize the farce later. Post delivery we were all made to ride in a formation around the city. So that is how the bike came home. Initial ride impressions are well covered in a couple of BMW 310 threads which were very hot at that time. I remember I was very active on those threads sharing ride impressions, issues, niggles, service stories, accessories, modifications, pictures, etc etc. In general, I was very happy with the bike and loved its looks, stance, ergonomics, and suspension, but hated the service experience. During the first couple of years of ownership, I rode the bike everywhere around Karnataka and Tamilnadu with a few trips to Kerala and Goa. Most of those ride experiences and pics are well covered in the 310 thread. In essence, I was enjoying my time with the bike and except for a few niggles here and there the ownership was mostly a pleasant experience.

I’ve just got this bike and Indeed it is one of the best. Trust me, in the budget of 24 lakhs, you cannot expect a better bike than this. Talking about the speed, try giving a throttle and you’ll vanish into thin air within seconds. I’ve seen people comparing this with V4s but it costs you 12 Lakhs more than this.
