The BMW RnineT Scrambler, like its name suggests, is built to look like a scrambler. It has a rather simplistic approach to its styling, keeping in tune with the heritage range. It gets large fuel tank and a split seat setup with the tail lamp fitted on the number plate holder. Moreover, the R nineT also sports a round headlamp and slightly high set, dual-exhausts that add character. And unlike most of the R nineT range, the Scrambler rides on alloy wheels.
It uses a 1,170cc, air and oil-cooled, boxer-twin engine with a shaft drive. The motor is tuned to produce 107.2bhp at 7,250rpm and 116Nm at 6,000rpm. BMW Motorrad claims the R nineT has a 0-100kmph time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 200 kmph.
Apart from the full-LED lighting, the R nineT comes with two riding modes – Rain and Road as standard. The safety net includes Automatic Stability Control (ASC), ABS , Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), as well as a new suspension strut with travel-dependent damping (WAD).
To add character to the RnineT Scrambler, BMW is offering the bike in a choice of four colours. The ‘Kalamatta Metallic Matt’ brown paint with the ‘23’ lettering on the tank. You could also go for the Cosmic Blue/White colour with its dual-tone combination. There also is a red and black paint combo that adds a sporty character to the R nineT. The colour features a red frame as well. Lastly, the bike is also available in a simple Granite Grey paint scheme.
