Introduction

Front View

It has been almost five months since I started using the Dune Neo Trail Off-road jacket and pants. I have used this gear for office commute. I have used it while testing some of the finest adventure bikes ever launched in India. I have also used it a lot while riding off-road at Pro Dirt Adventure Park near Pune. In fact, in the last five months, I’ve experienced the insane April Mumbai heat and also the never-ending monsoon. So in short, I’ve tested this gear in two major and extreme conditions in India.

What's good?

The touch and feel – I love how this gear feels every time I wear it. The texture of the material is fantastic and the lightness of it doesn’t just make it easy to wear, but you can spend countless hours in it.

Even the breathability of the gear is extremely good. In peak summers, while riding through extreme traffic situations, those mesh panels did bring in a decent amount of air to keep things in airy – be it the jacket or the pants. The flow is consistent and it aids in overall comfort.

I’m a big fan of the overall fit too. While I understand there’s protective gear inside, I like the idea of a loose comfort fit. This allows me to move around off-road conditions without the need to adjust the jacket or pant. A lot of points also go to the ease of things. Things like the zipper which is super smooth to operate and also the small pocket to hold on to some cash and cards.

What's not good?

Honestly, as of now, there isn’t anything that I don’t like about the Dune off-road gear. The only thing I noticed is the thread from certain sections of the jacket is coming off. It could have been the result of my last enduro trip to Pro Dirt. I did go through some wild patches and may have touched a few branches.

What's next?

I’ve got a few long-distance rides coming up, and also the winter is two months away. So I think it would be the best time to understand how this Rynox gear performs in an enjoyable weather condition and also figure out if it makes sense to wear it for multi-day multi-state rides.
