Introduction
The last two years have been miserable for me. My daily commuting time by car has increased from a total of 3.5 hours to 5 hours now, thanks to a never ending construction of a bridge enroute to work and the ever growing vehicle population in Mumbai. This has resulted in more fatigue and lesser time spent with family as I’ve been wasting hours in the traffic. I finally shifted to two-wheelers when the Yamaha FZ25 entered the BikeWale long term garage.
I always liked this motorcycle for its simple approach. Its design isn’t too flashy, the engine is refined but air-cooled and the features offered are easy to use and practical. All these have helped Yamaha price the bike in a range that is accessible to a wider range of buyers. There are other feel-good features like LED headlights, which actually gives an outstanding road presence to the FZ25.
The 250cc single-cylinder motor on the FZ25 is known for its excellent mid-range. This is something I’m quite eager to test out in Mumbai’s maddening traffic. Commuting, as such, needs to be relaxed and easy as it will be done on a regular basis. With the FZ25, I’m going to figure out the concept of fast commuting because I want to save time. And I need to save a lot of time because I want to use it to do something productive. So I’m looking forward to spend the next few months with the Yamaha FZ25. Stay tuned!
