The Indian two-wheeler market has seen a gradual shift from people purchasing 110-125cc bikes for commuting to now adapting to the 160cc offerings as well. Moreover, the current market has a bunch of newly updated 160cc bikes and if you are looking to purchase one, then here are the five most affordable options.
The Honda SP160 is the first and the most affordable 160cc bikes in this list and it has been around for a few years now. The SP160’s design is a neat blend of commuter and sporty looks. It not only gets slim proportions and a lightweight build but also a peppy engine. The SP160’s low-end grunt makes city riding quite stress-free and fun.
Honda has equipped the SP160 with the essential features only. The list includes an LED headlight and tail light, a digital console, ABS, and a side stand sensor. It is priced at Rs. 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Bajaj Avenger Street 160 is the only cruiser in its class. It gets a proper low and raked-out stance as you would expect on a cruiser. The Avenger Street 160 gets front-set footpegs, a scooped seat and a wide handlebar giving it a laid-back rider triangle. This makes it quite comfortable to ride the bike. Powering the Avenger Street 160 is a 160cc single-cylinder engine belting out 14.79bhp at 8,500rpm and 13.7Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. It gets a five-speed gearbox.
Bajaj offers the Avenger Street 160 in a single variant and it is priced at Rs. 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The TVS Apache RTR 160 too has been on sale for many years and has seen a bunch of updates in the said time. The engine is linked to a five-speed gearbox.
TVS also offers many features with the Apache RTR 160's top spec model. The list includes smartphone connectivity, navigation, call and SMS alerts, and more. This makes the TVS Apache RTR 160 one of the most feature-loaded bikes in the segment. The prices for the Apache RTR 160 start at Rs. 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Hero Xtreme 160 4V was launched sometime around last year. It is the successor to the previous 2V variant and retains a majority of the design but comes with a new four-valve setup.
