Hero Xpulse 200 4V
The Hero Xpulse 200 4V has become a household name for rookies as well as veterans to learn off-roading and for commuting. The Xpulse 200 features a slim and purposeful build consisting of a round LED headlight, spoked wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tyres, a single-piece seat, and a wide handlebar. It gets a relaxed rider triangle with a tall stance that is well-suited for dirt riding, commuting, and touring. Hero has powered it with a 199cc single-cylinder motor, producing 18.8bhp and a torque of 17.35Nm, and it’s linked to a five-speed gearbox. Suzuki V-Strom SX
The Suzuki V-Strom SX comes with an asking price of Rs. 2,11,600 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It borrows styling elements from its 650cc sibling and thereby gets an LED headlight topped by a transparent visor, a wide handlebar, a split seat, and a fairly tall stance. Suzuki has also equipped the V-Strom SX with a top box rack for added convenience, handlebar guards, and a belly plate for protection. It draws power from a 249cc single-cylinder engine that makes 26.1bhp and 22.2Nm. The motor offers good low-end and mid-range grunt, while the suspension has a decent amount of travel and rides over bumps easily. The Suzuki V-Strom SX makes for a likeable choice, courtesy of its versatility.
Yezdi Adventure
The Yezdi Adventure is priced at Rs. 2,12,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it’s a thorough-bred ADV. Yezdi has equipped the Adventure with a 334cc motor dishing out 29.89bhp and 29.84Nm and it’s linked to a six-speed gearbox. The engine is quite refined and offers good performance overall. On the feature front, the Yezdi offering gets full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled digital instrument cluster, a USB port, a USB Type-C port, and saddle stays as standard. To complement its off-roading and touring capabilities, the Yezdi Adventure comes equipped with a 21-inch front and a 17-inch rear spoked wheel shod to tube-type tyres.
Royal Enfield Himalayan
Royal Enfield has priced the Himalayan at Rs. 2,15,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it’s by far one of the most popular bikes in the ADV category. It features a low seat, a wide handlebar, a round headlight with a smoked windscreen, and a top box mount. The 411cc motor makes 24.3bhp and 32Nm and comes with a five-speed gearbox. It offers a good amount of torque and lets you ride at low speeds even in a higher gear. Meanwhile, the ground clearance makes it easy to ride the bike on broken roads as well as off-road. Further, the rugged character of the Himalayan is complemented by spoked wheels with dual-purpose rubber.
KTM 250 Adventure
The KTM 250 Adventure costs Rs. 2,45,205 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in two paint schemes. It packs a liquid-cooled single-cylinder 248.7cc mill and makes 29.6bhp and 24Nm. The setup packs a good top-end punch and the short-stroke motor revs quite quickly too. KTM has equipped the 250 ADV with LED illumination and a fully digital instrument console. Meanwhile, the safety net comprises dual-channel ABS. It rides on WP USD front forks and a monoshock, while the braking hardware comprises a single front and rear disc brake. The latter is mounted on alloy wheels wrapped in block-pattern tyres.
