Introduction
The Indian scooter market has grown exponentially over the past few years with products being more powerful and feature-loaded than before. Even the maxi-scooter line is seeing a gradual increase in the number of competitors, but we’ll save that talk for later. As for now, let’s look at the five most feature-loaded scooters on sale in India.
TVS Ntorq 125 XT
Starting off the list is the TVS Ntorq 125 XT priced at Rs 97,061 (ex-showroom Delhi). It’s the most feature-rich scooter you can currently buy in India. The list includes a TFT instrument cluster with TVS’ SmartXonnect. It gives you access to Bluetooth connectivity to pair your smartphone with the scooter and receive various notifications from social media apps to e-commerce as well as food delivery.
Furthermore, the TVS Ntorq XT’s display also gives you access to live scores (when paired with a phone), voice assist and turn-by-turn navigation. Not to mention, it also gets LED illumination as well as a USB charging port and a boot lamp. The Ntorq 125XT is powered by a 124.8cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 9.25bhp and 10.5Nm.
Suzuki Avenis 125
Rivalling the TVS Ntorq 125, the Suzuki Avenis 125 is yet another feature-loaded scooter. It’s powered by a 124.3cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor and develops 8.5bhp and 10Nm. On the feature front, the Avenis gets LED illumination, a front pocket with a USB port, an integrated engine kill switch, a side stand engine cut off, and a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity.
It gives you access to SMS, missed call alerts, caller ID, turn-by-turn navigation, WhatsApp alert, phone battery status and speed limit prompt. It retails at Rs 88,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Yamaha Fascino 125
Another 125cc scooter making it to the list is the Yamaha Fascino 125 Hybrid. It retails at Rs 83,360 (ex-showroom Delhi) and is equipped with a 125cc air-cooled engine churning 8.04bhp and 10.3Nm. On the feature front, the Yamaha Fascino 125 Hybrid gets a smart motor generator, automatic start-stop, LED illumination and Bluetooth-compatible digital cluster.
Hero Destini 125 X-TEC
Hero has been updating its motorcycle and scooter lineup with the X-TEC trim lately and the Destini 125 too has received it. The 125cc scooter now packs an LED headlight, a USB charging port with a cubby holder, and a semi-digital display with Bluetooth connectivity. The last bit allows you to connect your phone with the scooter and get access to SMS and phone-call notifications.
Hero has plonked in a 124.6cc motor in the Destini 125 X-TEC and it belts out 9bhp and 10.4Nm. The asking price is set to Rs 80,690 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Hero Pleasure Plus X-TEC
Apart from the Destini 125, the Hero Pleasure Plus X-TEC has also made it to the list. With an asking price of Rs 71,770 (ex-showroom Delhi), the scooter gets a 110.9cc single-cylinder engine belting out 8bhp and 8.70Nm.
It features an LED headlight, side-stand indicator, boot lamp, charging port and a semi-digital console with a Bluetooth connection. It gives you access to a smartphone connection for SMS, missed called alerts, new message alerts and phone battery status.
While the Honda Activa is the highest-selling scooter in India, it’s not even close on the list considering how short it falls on the features list.
