Grand Pitstop GRoller review – DIY chain cleaning
The Grand Pitstop GRoller can be used as a replacement for a paddock stand to make chain maintenance easy. Here is a step by step guide on how to lubricate your motorcycle’s chain with a GRoller.
1. Place the GRoller in front of the rear wheelWe start off by finding a flat surface. Place the GRoller in front of the rear tyre. It has to be aligned straight along the length of the motorcycle, with the narrowest tube close to the tyre.
2. Roll the bike onto the GRollerAs the narrowest tube is fixed in its place, you can now roll the motorcycle over it and onto the GRoller. We advise you to roll the motorcycle manually, and not ride over it.
3. Lubricate the chainYou can now put the bike on its side stand. It is time to get your hands dirty. Clean the grime off the motorcycle chain and apply lubricant. Once you clean a patch, just grab on the wheel and rotate it to move on to the next patch. You can refer to this link for a step-by-step guide on how to lubricate your motorcycle’s chain.
4. Roll the bike off the GRollerOnce you have completed lubricating the entire chain, get the motorcycle upright and roll it off the GRoller. Again, it is advised to push the motorcycle manually and not ride it off the GRoller.
The GRoller is available in three sizes with different load bearing capacities. Prices start at Rs 1,225 for the GRoller-S, while the GRoller-L, that we are using here, costs Rs 2,750. You can buy it online on Grand Pitstop's official website.
