Grand Pitstop GRoller Review

Those who own motorcycles without a centre stand are well aware of the pain of cleaning and lubricating the chain. In the absence of a centre stand, the rider is at the mercy of a garage for chain maintenance. This can be a problem for touring enthusiasts travelling through remote places, especially on big bikes, where garages are oblivious to the concept of a paddock stand. The Grand Pitstop GRoller is a device which helps you take care of the chain in the absence of a main stand or a paddock stand.

The GRoller is a compact device, which once mounted appropriately, allows free rotation of the rear wheel. To mount a motorcycle, you need to place the GRoller in front of the rear wheel and roll the bike over it. There are rubber strips on the base to hold the GRoller in place and allow you to rotate the wheel. The GRoller is made of stainless steel, which eliminates the risk of rusting. It is also mighty sturdy, given that it is supposed to take on the entire weight of the motorcycle’s rear section. The compact dimensions make it very easy to carry around.

The GRoller is available in three sizes with different load bearing capacities. The GRoller-S is for bikes weighing less than 170 kilograms and tyre width less than 170mm. The GRoller-M is for bikes weighing less than 220 kilograms and tyre width less than 180mm. What we have here is the GRoller-L, which can handle motorcycles weighing up to 270 kilograms, with tyre width less than 240mm. Prices start at Rs 1,225 for the GRoller-S, while the GRoller-L costs Rs 2,750. You can buy it online on Grand Pitstop's official website. We will be trying the GRoller on a slew of different motorcycles over the next few weeks to test its practicality quotient.
