Recap Day 1
IBW 2015 began on a rather slow but exciting note. The proceedings began with Triumph unveiling the Tiger 800 XCx and XCr. They are expected to be launched for the Indian market sometime next month and will be priced significantly above the standard Tiger 800 XC. With the show now on the road, DSK-Benelli began its innings at IBW 2015 by unveiling the Keeway Blackster cruiser, Benelli Tre 1130 K and TNT 250 streetbike.
We managed to get a chance to interact with Mark Wilsmore, manager and founder of Ace Café London while later on there was a media interaction with various media personalities. As the sun began to call it a day (a really long one) the stunting arena came alive but ended rather abruptly when one of the performers lost control and injured himself.
With lights on, the Red Bull tour bus began to belt out the tunes that kept the spirits of many bikers alive. Our friends from PowerDrift took to the stage a short while later to introduce themselves and were met with huge rounds of applause and support (join the PD Army revolution!) They were able to give their fans at the IBW a special preview of the review of the new KTM RC200 mini pocket rocket.
Finally the night ended with artist Nucleya taking to the main stage and driving the crowds crazy thanks to his peppy music and visuals.
Day 2
Day-2 has begun with dyno wars and the highly popular custom biker build-off which sees many custom garages bring their latest and best to the IBW arena to showcase their skills and talent. Stay tuned to this story for the latest from day-2!
Our man Ninad Ambre is all set to join the Harleyowners for the HOG Rally, consisting of over 2,000 riders, who will reach the venue at 5:30 pm.
And the day moves on
The Classic Parade was a sight for sore eyes. These well-maintained classic beauties were the cynosure of all eyes as they made their way into the arena near the Howling Dog Bar.
Following close was the Mod bike parade a glimpse of which we have already provided to you.
The very name of stunting motorcycles attracts bikers like moths to a candle. The crowds pressed behind the makeshift fence as they strained to catch sight of the Stunt Finals.
An event we have all been waiting for. Cricketer Yuvraj Singh is at India Bike Week. He is here to unveil the Autologue custom bike design.
Nothing in Goa is complete without a party and so it was with IBW 2015. While for the earlier part of the day visitors battled the scorching heat and checked out various events making most of their time, the evening saw them gathering around the Howling Dog Bar and the Food Court to quench their parched throats and to eat their fill.
The latter part of the evening were filled with award ceremonies, acknowledging the best among various competitions that were held. Finally it was time to call it a day and what better than music to unwind. Hugely popular Bristol-based band Babyhead made sure that even tired feet starting dancing with their music.
The BikeWale Team has returned from Goa, IBW 2015 with a lot of hard work accomplished and loads of memories. We hope to be their next year too to bring our readers extensive coverage of the event.
