RE Spiti gloves: three month review
I’ve been using the Royal Enfield Spiti short touring gloves as my primary set of gloves for the last three months. In that time, they’ve seen everything from 100cc commuters to 1200cc dual-sport monsters to our dirt riding training at Big Rock. They offer excellent feel but not the amount of protection that a full leather glove will. However, the few falls I had during our training showed that the Spiti set is good protection at low speeds in dirt, at least.
The Spiti has a couple of downsides, though. One, the stitching is beginning to come loose in a few places. Two, the Velcro at the wrist also catches on the polyester mesh if you’re not careful while putting them away, which leads to the upper layer slowly coming out. The mesh on the backs of the fingers also seems to be giving way just a bit.
I love the fact that I can operate my phone without having to take them off, and I love the comfort they offer, especially in the heat of summer. However, I’d be willing to pay a little more for a little more quality. As it stands, they are a good product at the price.
Available at the Royal Enfield online store.
