A few days ago, we brought you five of the most affordable 125cc motorcycles in India and the list consisted majorly of commuters. Well, to spruce things up a bit (with more power and features), we’ve now shortlisted five of the most affordable 150-160cc bikes. Let’s take a look at them.
Honda Unicorn
Of the lot, the Honda Unicorn is one of the most popular names. Its commuter nature offers ample utility to the buyers and the 162.7cc motor also packs enough punch to zip around town. The Honda Unicorn packs practicality and performance and thereby is quite a value-for-money purchase at Rs 1,02,533 (ex-showroom Delhi). The equipment on offer is quite basic with conventional telescopic forks and a monoshock while braking hardware comprises a single front disc and a rear drum unit.
Bajaj Pulsar 150
Along with the Honda Unicorn, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 too has been a household favorite for a long time. Its asking price is set to Rs 1,03,731 (ex-showroom Delhi) and you get a 149.9cc single-cylinder motor. The engine has been tuned to dish out 13.8bhp and 13.25Nm. While that may seem a tad less in today’s day and age, the Pulsar 150 packs enough punch. It’s equipped with telescopic front forks and dual rear springs. The braking hardware consists of a single front disc and a rear drum/disc brake option.
TVS Apache RTR 160 4V
Possibly one of the most feature-packed motorcycles on the list, the Apache RTR 160 4V could make for a commendable choice. It retails at Rs 1,11,590 (ex-showroom Delhi) and houses a 159.7cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled four-valve engine that develops 17.39bhp and 14.73Nm. On the feature front, you get LED DRL, gear shift indicator, and three ride modes - Urban, Sport, and Rain. Moreover, the special edition variant also comes with TVS SmartXonnect feature, adjustable clutch and front brake lever too.
Hero Xtreme 160R
You could also opt for the Hero Xtreme 160R at Rs 1,14,270 (ex-showroom Delhi). It too offers a decent mix of commuter qualities with a dash of sportiness. The Xtreme 160R draws power from a 163cc single-cylinder motor. It’s tuned to develop 15bhp and 14Nm. If you opt for the Xtec variant, the package consists of a fully digital console and Bluetooth connectivity.
Yamaha FZ S
Priced at Rs 1,19,400 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Yamaha FZ S is another option you could consider in this segment. It packs a 149cc engine that belts out 12.2bhp and 13.3Nm. The FZ S is equipped with a single disc on both ends. You also get features like LED illumination, Bluetooth connectivity, a fully digital LCD console and more. Not to mention, the Yamaha FZ S too is quite fuel-efficient and should make for a fun commuter offering.
