The festive season in India has commenced and the Indian two-wheeler market has a plethora of new bikes launched recently.
The KTM 390 Adventure X is priced at Rs. 2.81 lakh and is the entry ticket to KTM’s large-capacity adventure bikes in India. It looks similar to the other models in the line and also comes with the same 373cc single-cylinder motor that makes 42.9bhp and 37Nm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox. The KTM 390 Adventure X also gets features like LED illumination, fully digital LCD, and ABS and has been a commendable tourer and off-road motorcycle for years.
The TVS Apache RTR 310 is the Hosur-based brand’s most powerful and feature-loaded bike in the current roster. It gets a radically new design and dons muscular bodywork all over. There’s a single pod headlight with boomerang-like panels on the side. Then, the features list comprises a five-inch TFT with GoPro controls, music and telephony control, smart helmet device connectivity, and turn-by-turn navigation. You also get five ride modes – Urban, Rain, Sport, Track, and Supermoto. TVS has equipped the Apache RTR 310 with a 312.2cc, liquid-cooled motor developing 35.08bhp at 9,700rpm and 28.7Nm at 6,650rpm. The bike’s asking price is set at Rs. 2.42 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
If you are looking for a cruiser motorcycle in the premium segment, then the Harley-Davidson X440 could be a probable option. It recently debuted in the 300-400cc segment and is the most affordable Harley-Davidson bike you can purchase right now. The X440 is available in three variants that differ in terms of paint schemes and features to some extent. Powering it is a 440cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that belts out 27bhp and 38Nm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Since its launch, the X440 has received massive popularity and we, too, were quite impressed during its first ride held in June. It is priced from Rs. 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards.
Another new entrant in the 300-400cc segment is the Triumph Speed 400. It retails at Rs. 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and has been built in conjunction with Bajaj. The Triumph Speed 400 receives impeccable finishing and quality. It uses a 399cc single-cylinder engine that makes 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm. We have tested the bike briefly and came to like it quite a bit. Then, the motor is peppy and revs quite quickly. Even the suspension and overall handling is commendable. Triumph offers the Speed 400 in a single variant and three colours.
The Hero Karizma XMR receives the brand’s latest 210cc liquid-cooled motor. It makes 25.15bhp and 20.4Nm and gets a six-speed gearbox. Hero has plonked sharp and muscular bodywork all over and that gives the Karzima XMR a very enticing look. It gets a sporty character, too, and is currently in our long-term fleet. Hero has priced the Karizma XMR at Rs. 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and offers it in three colours.
