Standard features include electric start, front disc brake and rear swing-arm with Nitrox mono-suspension. It is powered by an air-cooled 149cc single-cylinder mill that produces 13bhp and 13Nm of torque. What makes this motorcycle capable is the long travel suspension set-up. However, keep in mind that the Impulse was discontinued in 2012 but sold till 2013 until the stock lasted. While searching, do look for a 2012-2013 model. This niche motorcycle will comfortably fall into your budget.

Yamaha FZ/FZ-S

This ‘fat-tyred’ bike is powered by a 153cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that generates 13.8bhp at 7,500rpm and 13.6Nm of torque at 6,000rpm mated to a five-speed sequential gearbox. This motorcycle sold in large numbers which means finding a clean example should not be a problem. Do not end up paying significantly more for an FZ-S over a FZ because the only difference on the motorcycle were cosmetic.

This motor comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and weighs just 135kgs. The sport-naked is equipped with SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) technology which, the company claims, helps to deliver both good performance as well as fuel efficiency. The motorcycle has displayed its handling prowess on tracks over the country and won numerous awards. A 2015 model year low-mileage example can be easily scouted for in this price bracket.
