The modern world as we call it, brings its fair share of prejudice and the highly talked about word- feminism. While the word and its use in itself is subjective, there are a few women that are influencing and breaking stereotypes as you read this. This Women’s Day we highlight a few humans from the feminine community that have achieved and made a mark in the biking fraternty via a medium we all love; motorcycles.
Priyanka Kochhar
Priyanka is one of the most famous women on motorcycles in India. Starting off as an anchor on a TV show, she moved on to riding motorcycles and becoming a social media influencer. With a love for track racing, modelling, travelling and occasionally reviewing motorcycles; the girl from Pune has inspired more than 1.6 lakh followers on Instagram.

Aishwarya Pissay
Aishwarya has been making racing popular among woman enthusiasts in India ever since she started training in 2016. The 23-year old professional motorcycle racer participates in rally as well as track events backed by the TVS Racing team. She has a number of achievements under her belt like the Raid de Himalaya Ladies class, Dakshin Dare, Indian National Rally Championship and the TVS Apache Ladies One Make Championship; all from 2017. Currently, the Bengaluru-based racer is preparing for the Desert Storm Rally to be held this month.

Anam Hashim
Stunting is deemed as dangerous and indeed is. Well, Anam Hashim has been breaking that stereotype as she pulls some daring stunts on her stunt-modded TVS Apache RTR 180. The 21-year old not only is a professional stunt rider but has also scaled Khardung La, the highest motorable road in the world on a TVS Scooty Zest. She is also the first Indian to win an international stunting event.

Dr. Maral Yazarloo
Maral Yazarloo is a Pune-based, Iranian woman. She holds a PhD and is also a fashion designer. However, she is currently running a campaign to permit Iranian women to ride bikes. Maral is aiming to ride across 7 nations and 45 countries on her BMW F650GS. She is currently in Argentina.

Laia Sainz
Laia Sainz’s last achievement was during the renowned Dakar rally. She placed 12th in this year’s event. The 33-year old Barcelonian had earlier secured 9th position in the 2015 Dakar Rally. The skilled racer has more than 55 awards in the field of endure motorcycle racing. In her free time, Laia indulges in trail cycling and skiing.
