The Harley-Davidson SuperLow is a part of the Sportster series, which have been in production since 1957. The SuperLow has been styled like a typical cruiser with its walnut-shaped fuel tank, acres of chrome and traditional styling. The low-slung cruiser has been improved over the years for easy and balanced handling. It now features improved ergonomics, a bigger 17-litre fuel tank and reduced weight for comfortable long distance cruising.
The SuperLow is powered by an air-cooled 883cc Evolution engine, based on the acclaimed Shovelhead and Ironhead series of engines. Being used since 1984, the engine gets modern touches like aluminium heads and Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection which make it more durable and reliable than the previous units.
The 45 degree V-Twin engine produces close to 50bhp and 69Nm of torque and is connected to chromed dual exhausts. It is mated to a five-speed gearbox with a wet multiplate clutch system. The engine is rubber mounted to reduce vibrations.
The most appealing part of the SuperLow though, is its low price. Before the launch of Street 750, the SuperLow was the stepping stone into the Harley Owners Group. The SuperLow is available in two paint schemes- vivid black and birch white and competes with the Hyosung ST7 and the GV650.
The ARAI mileage of Harley-Davidson SuperLow is 20 kmpl.
