The Hero Destini 125 is 125cc scooter and it has received a complete overhaul. Hero MotoCorp’s designs have always been conservative but the new Desitni 125 is a welcome departure from that.
The front end, for instance, has a nice-rounded design with crease lines and integrated turn indicators. Above this apron, you’ve got a new LED headlight. The side panels are new as well, with more of a squarish design in keeping with the modern-retro theme of the scooter. Even the tail section is new and has a stepped design that looks pretty interesting. On the whole, the design is fresh and much more in keeping with the times.
The top variant of the scooter gets a black shade with tastefully executed copper inserts on the apron, mirrors, bottom of the side panels, and the tail section. The dark brown colour of the floorboard matches the colour of the wide and long seat. Moreover, the pillion grab-rail with an integrated backrest, which appears to be padded, is a useful touch as well.
In terms of features, the scooter receives LED lights and a digital instrument cluster, perhaps with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation, as is the norm these days.
The engine in the new Destini 125 is likely to be carried forward from its predecessor. The 125cc, single-cylinder engine makes 9bhp at 7,000rpm and 10.4Nm at 5,500rpm. It is paired with a CVT.
The frame is suspended by a telescopic fork and a monoshock. What’s also interesting is that the new Destini 125 has the same alloy wheels that we see on the Hero Xoom. Braking duties, meanwhile, will be taken care of by a disc brake at the front and a drum at the rear. The entry-level variant of the new Destini 125 will most likely have a drum brake at the front as well.
The Hero Destini 125 is expected to be priced between Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 85,000. It will go up against the Suzuki Access 125 and the TVS Jupiter 125.
