the styling is of a typical dirt bike, the front mud guard tho not of mch use in the rains give a nice arrow forward feel to the bike! the icing is the silencer below the seat, that always has ppl asking and staring. The long seat can take me, my bag and a person at the back and his/her bag!

engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox

149 cc engine is silent, sometimes makes me wwonder if it is even on. Bt a typical silent killer, 0-30 leaves most bikes in the mirror well, thne they start catching up and evn go ahead, a little more power wud do on road. Handling is as nimble as possible, lik iv mentioned go anywhere do anything bike it is. Fuel fill it forget it, is what i hav been doing for the last 2 years of owning the bike. Gear box is a slight issue though, switching from 1 to 2 always go to false neutral, well hav read is a hero problem so ccant blame the bike. But hav taken to the roughest of terrain eg. Rajmachi(lonavala) bike mae the dirt eat itself.

    Ride quality & handling

hav tried steps, jumps, pot holes, footpaths, gravel, mud, sand, ......... List goes on and there is nothing stopping this bike. Light no wait very light. Grt handler. Seat is so soft u can sleep on it. Best part the seat extends forward saves ur b@ll$)). Very helpfull

This bike is very good but i am not able to get its spare parts .Any of the distributors are not keeping its spare parts . So it is shame that being a famous company , hero motocorp ltd is not producing its parts . If we not get the parts how can we trust on this company . So it is my humble request to supply the parts.

  • Love for hero impulse

    Adithya

The only one wonderful machine made by hero. I love to ride it on roads and of-course offroads. It's like a toy on offroading and on rural roads. The bike can fulfill your needs except on highways. That was hero's mistake. They didn't give the power it needs. On highways i wish it would have more powerful. But we can cruise at a speed of 80 km/h comfortably.

  • The rise and fall of the hero motocorp impulse

    Thara

bought a used hero impulse back in 2014, i got introduced to the offroad scene by a friend, since i already owned a custom built scrambler and i was occasionally going offroad. Bought it at rs50k ,finding a hero impulse in good condition was a pain in the ass ,but worth it once you get your hands on it. the ride quality was undeniably superior as compared to the other bikes in its segment here in India, so comfortable within city limits and yes it does shine offroad. The stance ,the ground clearance the suspension, the chassis do work very well, as a matter of fact quite surprising coming from commuter bikes I've owned in the past(karizma, rtr 160/180,honda stunner, bajaj pulsar 180,200), and this experience makes me appreciate the world of motorcycling more. But sadly the impulse struggles after revving the engine after hours of hill climbs. In this case the apache rtr comes back to mind. looks of the impulse was yet undeniably awful, it could definitely sell better if it has a more aggressive looks like the proper dirt bikes. Anyway my impulse had a fair amount of aftermarket parts which makes it look so damn good(headlight, rims, bar pads, knuckle guards, aftermarket exhaust, brake lines were altered). My dream was to get as close as possible to the yamaha wr250r, i didn't after all the effort but still looks bit thin as compared to the other impulse out there. The performance was ok within city commuting ,but for a weekend trashing it was a bit slow. Again if it comes mated to a 180-200cc unit it would be a dream to ride. All the parts there on the impulse was surprisingly good for rs72k, the suspension, the chassis, the carb, they were all doing fine. Especially the carburetor was a good choice by hero motocorp, in my honest opinion ,it's easy to maintain and no one needs to rob a bank for the after sales service. Carburetors are dirt cheap when it comes to replacement as compared to fi's. Even with the gearing changed (with the sprockets) it still struggles a lot to really take on the rough terrain , and that's exactly where most impulse owners want their bikes to shine. servicing the impulse was easy , but to maintain it in good condition , the unavailability of spare parts was a heart breaker. I personally loved the simplicity of the bike, but the headlights were not exactly doing their job well enough plus no engine kill switch ,which really helps out on off road, come on hero a little technology wouldn't hurt. Pros :1. Pricing of the impulse was a beauty. Affordable for the masses.2. Suspension (even though they were not usd forks and such ).3 .Indians most important questions when it comes to motorbikes and such, "kitna mileage, bhaia?", bahut achha mileage. (well not that surprising since it only has a 150cc heart)4. Ride quality, comfort like no other Indian motorcycle manufacturers. Superb. Cons: 1. Power, lacks power when needed most(off road), a 180cc-200cc engine, sweet spot for mileage and price of motorcycle to most Indians would elevate the motorcycle in terms of sales.2. Styling of the motorcycle was too outdated even when it was launched back then, and hero still doesn't seem to get it , the xpulse ,oh come on! the chinese people get it they are known for their copy cat nature, yet they knew which styles of bike to copy , ktm's, honda crf's like the crossfire 250 which looks hot, but it's undeniable that the impulse too was a copy of the honda bros , hero could've probably choose a better looking plastics for the impulse.3. Forks on the impulse were too skinny , and it doesn't inspire confidence at continuous bumps, potholes and such. Ps:- please hero motocorp if you get this across your path somehow, bring the impulse back to life and not the xpulse which looks like a copy of the re himalayan.

  • Impulse the little bike that could

    Sebastien Guite Bass

The hero impulse ,a bike that was never popular and even a flop, well i'll will prove you wrong .At first glance you can tell this bike can do anything ,climb mountains with ease ride down the nastiest of road paved or not and tackle the craziest of traffic like you where alone on that road .This little 150 cc machine is build to take a punch whether it riding down some stairs or true some nasty puddle or up stairs and why not on a perfectly pave road ,this bike can do it all ,with the most amount of suspension available in India this bike is design to tackle the rough and the tight stuff, much like our road here ,full off pot hole different kind off tarmac and many obstacle every few meters ,yet India is seem to be bent on looks with those crotch rocket with warrior name and transformer looks ,that put your head at the same level as your nicker and with a suspension that was design for the race track ,not something that is desirable in those mine field off road full of traffic ,where you want as much plushness as possible and your head as high as possible ,so you don't feel as you are ridding in the back off some old broken down auto .The hero impulse is design like a dirt bike ,so very prime off the start if you able to shift properly you can leave every one in your dust ,it was also design to fit in between rocks and trees ,well cars and sing post are very much like those ,so quick of the start and very nimble sound like a good combo to me .

Mechanically a pure perfection ,build for the harness off the dirt road and with minimal faring ,it is a joy to work on and that is not something that you will have to do often .With it a big gas tank and his light weight you go can go very far on one tank . Every other country who produce motorcycle have a multitude of those on off road bike for sale and in most off those places they have much better road and and way more relax traffic than we do ,so why every else got it and we didn't ,is it the look ,is it the speed . Well some one got it because hero is at it against the will produce a new impulse with more power more refinement ,like abs and maybe air cool engine ,will India get this time ,i hope so ,those bike can do anything unlike those transformer full off plastic parts that break off at the first little impact ,think twice for your next bike ,impulse is more than just a impulse

  • Feel pulse with impulse

    Kartik Godage

It's my pleasure surprise from my parents for me.

It's very comfortable while you are riding and it's attachments to the road are fabulous.

The looks of the bikes are undisputed and it's pretty much faster than 149cc bikes.

If you care about it everyday and pay attention to its servicing, then it is quite easy and very good you will feel it.

Talking about the advantages, if you talk about the benefits and the loss, only one thing i did not like is that it is not that the side stand is not given its cause.

Due to not being another side stand, you may have trouble getting rid of puncture.

engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox

Good performance with mileage, less noise, smooth ride on rough terrain, low maintain cost nice grip on road as well off road comfort seat, nice look good handling, extreme ride control in double seat, carry heavy load, company should provide more spare parts and launch with rear disc brake and led head lights.

  • Feel pulse with impulse

It's my pleasure surprise from my parents for me.

It's very comfortable while you are riding and it's attachments to the road are fabulous.

The looks of the bikes are undisputed and it's pretty much faster than 149cc bikes.

If you care about it everyday and pay attention to its servicing, then it is quite easy and very good you will feel it.

Talking about the advantages, if you talk about the benefits and the loss, only one thing i did not like is that it is not that the side stand is not given its cause.

Due to not being another side stand, you may have trouble getting rid of puncture.
